    Angry Reliance broadband : Filing case against billing fraud and harassment to pay AFTER TERMINATION!!



    Hello folks,

    I stay in the posh locality of HSR Layout, Sector-1 in Bangalore. This place is just 9KM from M.G.Road and 2KM from Koramangala the heart of this metropolitan city. I fell pray to the promises of 3mbps speed (500kbps guaranteed under any circumstances), and made the mistake of purchasing (crappy and extortionist service of ) Reliance Netconnect broadband data card in late 2009 without asking for a demonstration in my locality. My problems started immediately after the purchase when I realized that the signal strength in my locality is PATHETIC with my datacard failing to connect most of the times and if connected, with NIGHTMARISH speeds of around 10KBPS on an average!! It is nothing short of SHOCKING to note that ALL this was for a price of Rs 3500/- for the data card (non-refundable), and Rs 1100/- per month for the service!! For one month I logged complaints after complaints, with the (incompetent) technical support person finally checking in my locality to reluctantly admit that there is a network problem and that will be adressed soon. Yes, as you guessed right this was NOT addressed by incompetent Reliance (un)professionals. The signal strengths are so poor, even my 3 year old Reliance mobile number DOES NOT WORK AT MY HOME even today! I was FORCED to use this NIGHTMARISH broadband service ONLY BECAUSE I PAID Rs 3500/- for the data card, but decided to put an end to my MISERY in April 2011 after nearly 18 months of use. PLEASE NOTE THAT I WAS PROMPT IN PAYING THE BILL UNTIL April 2011 without any delay. When I placed my termination request over phone to the Reliance (un)professionals, I realized the next NIGHTMARE in the service : the whole closure process is a TRAP made as difficult as it is easy to subscribe to their service! After all, the UNETHICAL Reliance professionals know that it is ONLY the recurring income of an account that lets those lowly, incompetent (un)professionals earn their living on this planet. The first hurdle : they REFUSE to take the termination request on phone after asking 10 questions on why you want to terminate and annoyingly persuading you to continue the service ('read' it as continue feeding those incompetent parasites!). If you insist on termination then they ask you to visit the nearest Reliance web world to place the termination request asking you to pay up all outstanding then and there as a pre-requisite. After placing my termination request at the FORUM mall Reliance web world in the first week of April 2011 and dumping the data card in the dustbin as good riddance, I was hoping that the nonsense of well over a year has come to an end. But nah nah, soon I got a call from a worried customer service manager again persuading me to continue my charity to Reliance, ASSURING that the technical difficulties (which they didn't bother to fix for 18 months) will be resolved and that as an existing customer I will even be given the service of Rs 1100/- per month at just Rs 600/-. Again, the idiot in me fell for the persuasion and lure of half the price, and STRICTLY UNDER THE CONDITION THAT THE TECHNICAL ISSUE WITH THE SIGNAL STRENGTH WILL BE RESOLVED IN ONE WEEK AT MY SITE, agreed to continue the service. Immediately in a couple of days came the technical support person to my home to check on the signal strength BUT FAILED TO CONNECT CONSISTENTLY OR IMPROVE THE SPEED OF 10KBPS. I assumed that the service will now be automatically terminated, but to my SHOCK discovered that Reliance has sent me a full bill after a month until May!!! I called up Reliance and was told by the executive that the technical support person has mentioned (i.e SHAMELESSLY LIED) in his report that the CUSTOMER ISSUE IS RESOLVED AND I AM HAPPY WITH THE SIGNAL AND SPEED!!!!!!! I started fuming and fought with the unethical executives on phone to log a complaint, but was requested to go to the Reliance web world in Forum mall once again to make the outstanding payment to place another termination request, assuring me that the issue will be resolved. Completely pissed off, and to avoid accumulating more bills from this UNETHICAL company, I visited Forum mall a second time to pay for a month of unused service. But I WAS SHOCKED YET AGAIN when I got another bill in June 2011 asking me to pay another Rs 1100/- WHICH I FLATLY REFUSED and logged a detailed complaint with an executive in Mumbai explaining the harassment for about 30 minutes! He finally assured me that I NEED NOT PAY FOR THE MONTH OF MAY-JUNE AND MY SERVICE WILL BE TERMINATED. Thankfully, the SERVICE WAS TERMINATED but after sometime with penalty added, I got a notification to pay approximately Rs 1500/-. I ignored these notifications, until I received a LEGAL NOTICE threatening me to pay or come to the civil court! I talked to the suggested executive (one bullshit lady) to be even negotiated to pay Rs 500/- to close the case!! I told her that I already paid for an UNUSED month of April-May and hence refused to pay even a penny more, challenging her to do whatever she wants. A few days later I received a summons from the court which I ignored, and soon got a call from another female executive to whom I explained all the bullshit to arrive at a FINAL agreement with her that I will pay IF SHE CAN CHECK RELIANCE TRACKING SYSTEM FOR EVEN A SINGLE BYTE OF NETWORK USAGE DURING THE SAID PERIOD. Obviously, she did NOT get back to me since my data card was thrown out of the window after April 2011 with ZERO usage, WITH MY DECISION THAT I AND MY ENTIRE FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL NEVER USE A RELIANCE SERVICE IN OUR LIVES!!!! I assumed that finally the harassment has ended forever, when I get a call on Jun-28-2012 from a person claiming to be Reliance's advocate (supposedly named Krishnamurthy, from mobile : +919886014477) at 3PM threatening me to pay Rs 2038/- by 6PM either online or at the civil court, Bangalore to AVOID facing an arrest warrant from the police!!! He was unable to talk in a language other than "Kannada" and used harsh words refusing to even listen to my request to talk to the concerned manager (supposedly Mr Nagaraja Shetty) of Reliance. Since I did not want to take a chance, I paid up Rs 2038/- online as per the instructions from a collection department (looks like Reliance employs rowdies) scoundrel by 4PM and then called up the f*kng advocate-imposter giving him the payment proof and THREATENED to file a case on the grounds of poor service, negligence and harassment in the consumer forum in Bangalore.

    I am a post-graduate from the IIT and strong on values to never hold up even a single rupee payment to another person in my life till date. I will ENSURE that Reliance has to pay me not just Rs 2038/-, but ALSO penalty for their BILLING FRAUD AND 3RD CLASS HARASSMENT. An experienced consumer forum lawyer has just informed me that this is enough to sue Reliance and the concerned managers for a HEAVY compensation with a quick judgement.

    My Reliance broadband number is 9343638397, and I have documents in proof of placing the termination request twice at Reliance web world, subsequent complaints with Reliance call center and also details of the harassment call I received today. Its time to teach Mr Anil Ambani that a month's rental EXTORTION is NOT worth loss of 10 customers for a LIFETIME!! No business that has ill-treated its customers has ever stood the test of time historically!!! All the grieving consumers here who have NOT yet been compensated adequately by Reliance, PLEASE BE CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO FILE YOUR CASE IN THE (GOVERNMENT) CONSUMER FORUMS to teach such UNETHICAL BUSINESSES a lesson!

    This is for the viewers : A person from Reliance customer care called me up ASSUMING that I am still on service, and told me that the matter will be followed up. But clearly they are not interested since I don't mean revenue anymore, and HENCE THERE HAS BEEN NO FURTHER DEVELOPMENT!

    PLEASE NOTE THAT MY SERVICE WAS TERMINATED IN JUNE 2011 AND I DON'T WANT RELIANCE EVER IN MY LIFE!!! I WANT AN APOLOGY FROM RELIANCE WITH REFUND OF THE ILLEGITIMATE AMOUNT - Rs 2038/- CLAIMED BY THE GOONDAS (rowdies) IN RELIANCE COLLECTION DEPARTMENT AT THE EARLIEST.     This is to update you people that beyond the above "STANDARD" reply from RCOMCare, NO ONE contacted me from the company to address the problem. This is clearly because, I AM NOT THEIR CUSTOMER ANYMORE, AND THEY HAVE TO PAY ME BACK Rs 2038/- WITH AN APOLOGY which does not fetch them anything. IT IS MY APPEAL TO SENSIBLE PUBLIC TO STRICTLY AVOID BUYING ANY PRODUCT OR SERVICES FROM ANIL AMBANI RELIANCE GROUP IF YOU WANT TO AVOID POOR SERVICE, FRUSTRATION AND HARASSMENT FROM THEM IN RETURN. This is A GENUINE advice from an IITian in PUBLIC INTEREST.

I assumed that finally the harassment has ended forever, when I get a call on Jun-28-2012 from a person claiming to be Reliance's advocate (supposedly named Krishnamurthy, from mobile : +919886014477) at 3PM threatening me to pay Rs 2038/- by 6PM either online or at the civil court, Bangalore to AVOID facing an arrest warrant from the police!!! He was unable to talk in a language other than "Kannada" and used harsh words refusing to even listen to my request to talk to the concerned manager (supposedly Mr Nagaraja Shetty) of Reliance. Since I did not want to take a chance, I paid up Rs 2038/- online as per the instructions from a collection department (looks like Reliance employs rowdies) scoundrel by 4PM and then called up the f*kng advocate-imposter giving him the payment proof and THREATENED to file a case on the grounds of poor service, negligence and harassment in the consumer forum in Bangalore.

    I am a post-graduate from the IIT and strong on values to never hold up even a single rupee payment to another person in my life till date. I will ENSURE that Reliance has to pay me not just Rs 2038/-, but ALSO penalty for their BILLING FRAUD AND 3RD CLASS HARASSMENT. An experienced consumer forum lawyer has just informed me that this is enough to sue Reliance and the concerned managers for a HEAVY compensation with a quick judgement.

    My Reliance broadband number is 9343638397, and I have documents in proof of placing the termination request twice at Reliance web world, subsequent complaints with Reliance call center and also details of the harassment call I received today. Its time to teach Mr Anil Ambani that a month's rental EXTORTION is NOT worth loss of 10 customers for a LIFETIME!! No business that has ill-treated its customers has ever stood the test of time historically!!! All the grieving consumers here who have NOT yet been compensated adequately by Reliance, PLEASE BE CONFIDENT ENOUGH TO FILE YOUR CASE IN THE (GOVERNMENT) CONSUMER FORUMS to teach such UNETHICAL BUSINESSES a lesson!

    Default Fradulent Billin, worst Customer Care and Appellate Authority

    Hi,

    I was a post paid customer of Reliance CDMA and number was 9310072526. My problems started when i purchased a Net connect Data Card in December 2010 and make a mistake of combining the Bill of both the services. Purchasing that data card and combing the bill of both Mobile and Data card turned out be a true nightmare for me. I decided to Cancel that Data card on 13th March 2011. I visited the Reliance store and gave the request for cancellation but executive convinced me that it is better if i put that Data connect no on safe custody so that i can use it later if i want to. I somehow agreed to him and decided to go for the Safe Custody option and also paid the advance rent for 2 months. After that real problem started that Data card was never put on the safe custody and reliance as usual kept on sending me the bills every month and everytime i will call them and follow up with them for the reversal. It kept on going for nearly 9 months. In December 2011 they offered me a plan where i can use the data card for free for 3 months and after that they will charge me 500 Rs for a month. I asked them to send me that email in written which has also been done by them but as usual there was no clarity on the email so i again escalated to them and they agreed to terminate the data card services and reverse the wrong bill that was generated in December 2011. In Jan 2012 bill amount for December 2011 was reversed but they again charge me rental for Jan month. Which was very funny and stupid on their part. I made formal complaints for that and didnt pay the data card rent for that month and in Feb they charged me for the late fees and stopped the services on the Mobile saying that i need to pay the bill otherwise services on that number will not continue. I contacted the customer care and Appellate Authority but they didnt help. I was already fed up with Reliance so i paid the amount which i was not supposed to pay and moved out of Reliance. After that i asked for a refund 0f Jan Bill and late fees charges. There is a guy called Ishwar in the Appellate Authority who tool nearly 3 months to understand the case and said that refund of 643 will be processed into my account. After that i got a call from some other guy who also understood the case and said that refund will be processed within 2 months. I asked them to send the same to me by email. Which was also done by them. When i contacted them after 3 months for refund i was told by Appellate officer that i need to contact customer care. I contacted the customer care and i was given 175370230 complaint and was told that within 72 hours i will get call from them. I didnt receive any call from them and i when i contacted the customer care they said that no refund will be given you can contact Appellate officer for the same. After that i contacted the Appellate officer and spoke to Imran who said that he will check with the concerned team and respond back. After 1 day he called back and said that refund is not possible because you already have got 3 refunds. i told him that if you generate 12 wrong bills then you have to refund it 12 times. this is as simple as this. but he said that he cant do anything and there is no more senior authority in reliance where i can speak to. I have send then email n times but everytime they have replied back without checking the contents of the email. I have got all the written proofs again them which shows that they are doing the fraudulent billing and response back time from them doesnt match any standard. I want to file a case against them asking for a compensation and for the refund amount.

    Default Reliance Fraud billing and Traps for troubling customers.

    Hello members,

    I am Mohan Prasad from Hyderabad.
    I took a reliance netconnect data card in December 2011 paying 2300.00 (3 months advance rental). Within few days I realized that the connectivity was very poor and and decided to stop using it after three months period. Towards the end of three months (i.e. in Feb I guess) I have called the customer care and asked for termination and as well said by Sreenath R they are unprofessional, unethical, incompetent people replied it should be done in the nearby mobile store.

    Adding to this they informed me that they can provide me another 3 months retention period free of charge and in the meantime their technical team would do a field visit and rectify the issue. . I got convinced for the first time which I now realise that is my big mistake. Also I am sure it was never done as I could see no improvement

    Story not yet over, they finally didnt enforce the plan change and billed me with about Rs. 300 with no fault of mine, I immediately called up R Care and asked the reasons for being billed when I have opted for extension and they informed that request didnt get register the first time and they freshly took the request and innocently asked me to pay some Rs.129.00 as if they are doing a big favour.

    Towards end of April 2012 I got furstrated and decided to get my connection migrated from postpaid to prepared. As advised by unprofessional, unethical, incompetent customer care people, I went to a nearby mobile store in Tirumalagheri, Hyderabad and there I had a big fight with the person who asked me to make payment of the outstanding amount which actually shouldnt be.

    one more funny incindent is that the systems in Customer care doesnt read any outstanding amount but the mobile store guy has a different info. I took the initiative to call the R Care from the same store and made the store guy to speak to his Co worker in customer care and they have finally agreed to take the request without charging me any amount. I was asked to provide ID proof and I strongly remember it was on 29th April 2012. In return I only got a feedback from the store guy that the issue would be closed within 5 working days. On 5th May I spoke to the customer care and enquired about the status and was shocked to hear that no requests were shown in my account. They asked me to once again visit the store and check. (Please not this is my 2nd Visit). On visiting the store again I understand that the request from the store was not yet logged. I couldnt do anything except screaming at them. Now they placed the request and I forcefully seeked request number which was 180685376 and was told that the issue would be closed in 48 hours.

    After the above stated 48 hours I called the Cust. Care and was shocked to hear that no request was reflecting in my account. Till I tell them the service request number they couldnt trace it. it is completely true that these people are unprofessional, unethical, incompetent (even today). I could only get a great advise that to go and talk to the store fellow (3rd Time).
    i once again visited the store and couldnt get much response but the contact number of the fellow over there which saved me some time from revisiting the store.

    Later I ignored for a while as i got the assurance from the store fellow that i will not be charged and After a long gap on 20th July i spoke to customer care once again to check the status and bloody people they still dont know any status till i give them the request number. Now it is a different story they say that their backend team tried to reach me 5 times and no response. I was really surprised. It has become a common cycle to call the customer care --> speak to the store fellow --> even then no response. I pray to god from some help and request reliance people for god sake please stop cheating people like this. Now it is very clear how reliance people are making crores of rupees in their business.

    Today ie.2nd August one stupid guy from local reliance office called me asking to confirm if I am receiving bills in hardcopies. I really got frustrated and yelled at him. Immediately after the call I called the customer care and literaly pleaded them to see that I am out of all this bull shit. They simply say please go and raise the request once again and gave me a status update that my service request was closed with the following remarks:
    1. Backend team tried to reach me on my alternate number 5 times and couldn’t reach – I have provided my office number (which I cannot turn off under any circumstances)
    If they could provide me the dates on which they tried to reach me and I will show you how many calls I received on that day.
    This is like a courier guy simply saying door locked if he is lazy to find the address.
    2. And customer has agreed for field visit and case is closed with customer retention.

    If properly read you can see for yourself how contradictory are the above two statements. 1st they say they couldn’t reach me and 2nd they say that customer has agreed for field visit and retention - When?
    What is all this? I am really frustrated with poor customer service and all their bloody LIES.

    I spoke to the store guy and understand that he has nothing to do with it and he asked me to make the outstanding payment and then he will take a fresh request.

    I thought of calling the appellate authority and informed about all this here I came to know that though I have placed the request in may it got registered on 7th of june 12 (Actually it was placed around 4th of May) so he asked me to make a payment of about 500 Rs and the issue will be closed in 1 or 2 days.

    I pity my self and our system how helpless we have become though we know that you are getting looted left right and center.
    Who will help me in this regard. If anyone finds that i am at fault, I will pay the necessary amount.

    As rightly said by Sreenath - PLEASE PLEASE DONT USE RELIANCE PRODUCTS OR SERVICES EVEN BY MISTAKE

    The customer care guy can do all the activities except termination or migration - why reasons not known.

    There could easily do this they can see if there any outstanding and tell us to pay and on receipt of payment confirmation they can simply do it in the system itself. who is going to run away without paying their money why should we go to them.

    When they want customers they chase us --- when we dont want their services we have to chase them

    See how beautifully these bastards trap the customers, Feb - offered retention plan, April - Not registered, May - request taken, July - Customer (I) not reachable, August - Issue closed - Customer retained - make payement.

    Please save us god from these bloody corporate looters.

    Response time of Appellate Authority: I have spoken to their executive Imran on 30th July where he gave me most unreasonable reason for not processing the refund request. I asked him to send that to me an email so that I can have the written proof and he said that email will be send to me within 48-72 hours. I have been chasing him and Appellate Authority after that but no email has send to me. Yesterday also i spoke to one of their executive and i was told that by end of day i will be getting that email. But as usual nothing happened. Today morning i also called them and was told that i will be getting that email today. After the call i have received that email but the contents of that email show that there is no supervision of their work and there is no responsibility on the kind of communication they are sending to the customer.

    As per the email it says..
    "With reference to your below mail, we would like to inform you that your concern has been sent to concern team and currently in process."
    I am not sure what to do with it. I am chasing them for last 15 months and everytime they come up with the same standard reply and never come provide any solution to the problem. Reference no of the above communication was 2872246708.

    dear all consumers
    i need to bring to notice that no notice can be served by phone by an advocate if any claiming to be an advocate on behalf of any company or for that matter reliance you can lodge an fir against him for threatening and use of abusive language causing mental harassment to you in nearest police station and keep an record of fir complaint with you from the police station also if any legal notice is served to you you can reply to it by your self also with the reasons and also mentioning the deficiencies in the services by the service provider ,as per termination is concerned if they are not terminating on phone just issue them a notice to their main office in nearest locality through register AD [postal] keep a copy of it as proof and if they threaten to file a case don't worry because as you have that proof of notice which you had issued to them as proof do mention in it that hence forth there will be no payment from you and you will be not liable to them
