    Dear Sir,
    This is reference to our India Today Book Club Membership No- PT00052840 in
    the name of Col. Vinod Marwaha, President, IIeBM, Pune. I have sent them a
    Cheque No- 447094 for Rs. 2,000 towards the payment of 16 SAZZ CD pack on
    dated 25 JULY 08 but Still I haven't received the CD pack. I inquired to
    there Executive Mr. Vishnu Verme, Mr.Jitendra Kumar on 25 OCT & 18 NOV 08
    respectevely but the query was unresponded.

    I kindly request you to look after my matter.

    Like many other complainants on this forum i have made a full payment to ITBC for the purchase of a 12 DVD / CD Saaz set along with some free gifts. It is now 4 months - No sign of the DVD nor the free gifts inspite of numerous phone calls and emails.

    Freinds i have had it with this company. I would like to know if any one is filing suit aganist this company so that i can file a joint suit. pls contact me at patjas@lycos.com

    Hi All,

    I had subscribed to a magazine for 5 years. ( Business Today ) and 1
    Year Subscription for 1 year.
    After subscribing i observed that i receive the copy almost a week
    late ( or 4 days ) delay compared to when its available in Retail
    shops for sale.

    On enquiry i understand that "Subscriber's Copy" of the magazine gets
    printed last. And is given least preference as they want to reduce
    the time taken to attract "non-subscribers" ( because poor subscribers
    are anyway locked-in for that period.)

    I believe its not right for the publisher to do this, as his primary
    obligation is to the "subscriber" who has paid in advance.Please let
    me know if this can be taken up in legal terms / can a notice be sent
    to such publishers ?

    Any inputs would be helpfull.

    Hi,

    I have been cheated by India today book club(Based in Delhi) & now it's almost impossible to get them.

    Few months back I received an e-mail from them stating that I could get a SWATCH watch only in Rs 1900 with a United colour of benetton watch absolutely free. I found the offer lucrative & went ahead with transection on e-mail. I did the transection on 25th Feb & paid Rs 2150(Inclusive of all charges) from my SCB credit card. Moments later i received a msg that transection was unsuccessfull & I should try again. I repeated the entire process but the result was same. It also displayed on web that transection wasn't succesfull. Finally I decided not to go ahead as it wasn't getting thru.

    2 days later I got call from India Today Book Club & the represntative on phone told me that your transections weren't successfull so now you can make the payement on phone. I agreed to it & then he connected me to IVR & transection got through. I received a msg stating that the order was placed & I'll receive my parcel in 19 days.

    After arounf 10-12 days I received 2 parcels from them containing two watches each. This indicated that there was something wrong & I checked my credit card statement & was shocked to see that money was debited thrice. I also discovered that my 3rd parcel is on way. This was extremely upsetting I decided to talk to them on the help line no. they had provided i.e 011 40502424. I was on hold for roughly half an hour with my bill running but nobody picked the phone. Since I was in Mumbai I didn't have a choice but to keep on trying & letting the mobile bill increase limitlessly. Thankfully one day one of the guys from their called up to sell another product & then I shared my exprience with him. Inreturn he suggested me to write an e-mail to them at response@indiatodaybookclub.com. As usual there was no response to the e-mail & further reminders. meanwhile I received the third parcel too containing same set of watches.

    Now the situation is that my credit card bill is partly unpaid as I didn't have enough money to pay them off & hence I am being charged interest amounting in thousands. My mobile bill amounted twice of normal bill amount & the entire episode has given me so much stress that I am willing to sacrifice my life to give them a lesson. & extra watches are lyeing uselessly as they are all same designs.

    I sincerely request you to kinly help me recover the extra money debited form my account & also let them pay the money that I have spent on phone trying to speak to a representative.
    I am ok keeping one parcel costing Rs 2150.

    Thanks a lot for offering this palteform to consumer who are victims of such merchants.

    i had subscribed to india today magazine for 1 year. i have not received the magazine since 2nd may upto date. i had mailed to india today group but have not received any response. i had paid Rs 447(425+22) and have received only 2 issues upto date. they have guaranteed 52 issues.

    Default Cheating By India Today Free Holiday

    Dear Sirs

    I had booked the order (order no 0GA0900050989) at 'India today book club' for
    Reebok Watch against free gift offer of Family Holiday home package.

    The parcel I received was having only the Watch, the ‘Family holiday voucher was not
    enclosed’ but in the Invoice cum Delivery note it was mentioned to visit the below
    mentioned bookstoday.in/promos.htm link to claim your free holiday.

    When I visited the link, there are only complaints against this company and no such
    actual link to claim the free holiday voucher.

    The free gift what they are saying is a totally misguiding to the customers.

    I have maintained copies of all communication between ‘India today book club’ and
    me. I am expecting my money back with harassment compensation and company to stop
    such cheating marketing policy.

    On 4th of July, 2009, I was contacted by your personnel (Sh Samir)
    soliciting orders for Reebok Kit, and I placed an order for 3 pairs of
    Reebok sunglasses at Rs. 999/= for each pair. The total amount of Rs. 2997/=
    was duly paid over IVR after further discussions with the floor manager Sh
    Dipak and later the technical person Sh Pradip. All the three confirmed the
    receipt of the payment. It is also reflected in my credit card bill.
    However, the delivery was not made for a long time despite repeated calls to
    your designated number 011-40502424.



    Today, after lapse of 30 days, one pair of sunglasses have been delivered to
    me. I do not know why the other two pairs have not been delivered in this
    lot. Your call centre people do nothing but profusely apologise and say that
    I have to wait for another 15 days.



    This kind of piecemeal delivery, that too after a lapse of nearly a month
    does definitely not belong to "good business practices". The sunglasses were
    ordered as a gift to my relatives who were to visit me in end July. If I do
    not receive the other two pairs before this Friday (7th of August, 2009),
    they will be of no use to me.



    I am requesting you to help me by seeing to it that the remaining two pairs
    of sunglasses are delivered to me before this Friday (the 7th of August,
    2009). If it is not possible for you to deliver it before the stipulated
    date, I request you to cancel the order and refund the balance money to be
    credited to my credit card through which the payment was made.



    I also request that, in order to avoid similar unpleasantness to other
    customers, you indicate the delivery period before you book the order.

    past since i raised a complain but till now i have not received any

    seriously.They have asked me to return their books& then they will return my money
    back but its almost 31 days passed & they are not in a mood to solve this
    matter.Attaching the scan image or courier receipt which they received on

    clearly said 'YES' & also she said that apart from this amount,i dont need to
    pay any further charges.So i accepted the plan & made the payment.
    But when i tried to book Hotel ticket later,i came to know that i have to pay
    Rs.800.Still i go ahead & sent them the draft for Rs.800.But again when i sent the
    form for Air booking,they have asked me to send the draft of Rs.7000 towards Taxes.
    As i was clearly told by the IndiaToday sales girl at the time of booking that the
    cost includes Taxes,they have simply done a Fraud with me just to get their Target
    Achieved.If you want
    This is a Primafacie case of Cheat & Fraud with the customer.I never thought that
    India Today can do this type of thing.Now i simply want my entire money back.If you
    will not look into the matter,i am simply going to Escalate the matter to higher
    authorities.I want the full refund of my money as the entire package was fake & you
    all hide the material facts from me."

    Default Order Confirmation from India Today Book Club

    I have two queries which relate to my money and two unnecessary points because of
    your flaws.

    1) I placed an order for 4 best seller books through an SMS to 567678 from my mobile
    (9884611707) on 18 July 2009 for which Reebok Watch was suposed to be given. I've
    received only the books last saturday through First Flight courier and the watch was
    not included in the parcel. Please arrange for the same at the earliest.


    2) I had placed an order for Reebok watch for Rs 499, through phone for which
    payment was made through my credit card (no 5176 5210 0855 1196). I've not received
    this till now.

    So you will have to send me two Reebok watches

    3) I've received another parcel of 4 best seller books which was prepaid.

    Please ensure you collect this parcel while delivering the two Reebok watches.

    4) I do not know why you are keeping sending numerous books with cash on delivery
    order which I did not place more than once. I've already received two sets of books
    and there were two more calls from Bluedart asking for delivery confirmation &
    money.

    You are disturbing me unncecessarily and I may have to take this to consumer court
    forum for compensation if the same continues

    a company of INDIA TODAY group, runs on-line offers for various product and
    services ,among such offers for SAMSUNG TOUCH PHONE+REEBOK WATCH+HOLIDAY& AIR TICKET
