they've asked me for an year magazine subscption. I couldn't get a clear idea about this.

Is This a Fake or what...?

I regret to inform you that inspite of my payment of RS.2998/- for the sweepstakes 2011, I havent received any courier. I received an SMS on 12th MAY-11, saying that my

REFERENCE BOOKING ID: SG-863675 for Rs.2998 has been dispatched on 40852 by FF-NONCOD D48409329.
But until today I havent received any courier at all. Kindly look into this issue & do the needful.

I received an official notice in october containing that Nishtha Varshney have been identified as one of those selected as a potential winner of as much as Rs.35,00,000! and that I am also eligible for an extra prize draw for Rs. 2,00,000!
The letter enclosed a Readers Digest Account Name Confirmation slip. I was asked for making the correction of my name if any,, So, I corrected my name to MS NISHTHA VARSHNEY as my name was always printed wrong on all the documents as MR NISHTHA VARSHNEY.


It was mentioned in the letter that some official sweepstakes documents would be arriving in a few days in an envelope stamped 'Prize On Hold'. And I have to return my Account Name Confirmation slip with other sweepstakes documents in reply envelope within seven days of receipt.

But its November going now and I hadn't received any other letter yet.. So, please do consider my request and send me something to satisfy my doubts.

I have been subscribing RD since 3 years. RD is luring the subscribers with an assurance that you have been selected for Sweeptakers guarantee prize.........you are one of the luckiest to be finalised.so on on and on... This type of drama
is continuing since 3 years and the subscribers are either forced to purchase some books or compelled to continue the subscription. This value added conditions were never spelled out at the beginning itself. Each and every time new conditiions..., new step will be informed as a surprise(shock) to the subscribers. This type of cross selling tactics and
luring the subscribers is worst than gambling. It is against the laws of the land. I wonder how all the subscribers
are blindly following the every surprising (shocking) steps unfurlled by DG (including myself). Even I doubt about
the transperancy in declaring the winners. I have never seen the name of any winner of Rs. 35 lakhs or for that matter what the company gives the names of some winners of Rs. 2 lakhs or so, whether it is genuine? If genuine, let RD disclose the address and phone nunbers of the winners. This type of activity is uncalled for from a publisher to the stature of RD.

Recently I have renewed my subscription by providing my Credfit Card No. and the amount has been debited manually by RD and I have received the msg for the same. But surprisingly, I received a communication from RD that my subscription has been renewed and I have been asked to pay the amount by VPP to the postman. I am giving herebelow my subscription No.

Can the RD clarify the same to me? Still how many scenes are left in the drama upto the final announcement of results of winners? Will the selection of winners be in transparent?

I got a mail from readers digest in my gmail inbox few months back and they mentioned that I will be directly selected for sweepstakes 2011 entry and I could be won 32 lacs and a car so that I went through the link they provided.Then I realised that first I will have to subscribed readers digest to get the chance.I have already subscribed and already got atleast 5 readers digest but till date I could not understand how to win this contest(if any).Last month I got a courier from readers digest that I am in final stage of the competetion so fill up and reply via courier within the deadline of 7 days and I have done that but till date no proper reply or communication from them.I just want to know that is there really any competetion or this are tactics to sell readers digest??Just waiting for proper reply..

Apparently these three were the 3 surprise gifts that is mentioned on readers digest website. I payed Rs. 499 to the postman which included 449 for the books and Rs 50 as some surcharge which i guess was postage and handling *even though it is mentioned on readers digest website i won't have to pay anything for postage and handling*

Except those *free gifts* i haven't recieved a single issue of readers digest till now. I mailed them once on 20th august. I didn't recieve any reply from them till now.

I would really appreciate it if you can atleast get refund of the money i payed them if not the magazine.
