    Default bajaj pulsar bike issue

I type this complant with great disappointment and distrust on the poor quality of salesmanship and vehicle service that I had to face with my recently purchased Pulsar 150 dts - i UG 3 ,after 7 months of my working after graduation i managed to save a little of my money and purchased a Bajaj pulsar by Feb 21,2009 in an emi scheme provided by Bajaj auto finance - I work in a BPO - and i had to extend my shifts sometimes for which i mainly needed a vehicle of my own .the bike HAD A STANDARD FITMENT OF MRF ZAPPER TYRES AND KBX DISC BRAKES BUT when i had got the bike ,the bike was given to me with EUROGRIP TYRES AND ETS disc brakes -WHICH I VE NEVER REALLY HEARD OF THAT and when i went to claim the above fact in the showroom just 2 days after date of delivery ,THE SALES AGENT WHO SOLD ME THE BIKE SAID " YOU SHOULD HAVE CLAIMED IT AT THE TIME OF PURCHASE " -now what sort of a dirty gimmick was that ?????? and the paint quality really suffered when it came to maintenance in chennai -the bike was very good for the 1st 1000 kms that it clocked - and even for my great love of the bike i never exceeded 60 kmph till it ran for a good 2200 kms - I use abt 30-40 kms per day and now after even after decent run in of the engine , I have noticed the following in the bike :

    1) The bike's mileage dropped to 45 kmpl after 1st service from 68kmpl -the mileage s not consistent , and its a big let go anytime --also the bike freezes occassionally for want of fuel

    2) The bike suffered excessive leakage of oil on the back wheels where the chain and sprocket run to accelerate the wheel -most of the times the bikes wheels were draped in grease paint, this was rectified to some extent but now the oil leaks from the gearbox area

    3) The so called " EUROGRIP TYRES ", when i had gone to claim for a change in tyres , I was told that these tyres are on par with MRF tyres - which was the filthiest lie i got from one of the most decent showrooms in chennai - the bike kids even in 40 kmph at even slightly muddy areas and sure to skid on concrete and tarmac road when riding and 60-70kmph-I had to change the tyres on my own for another set of mrf tyres

    4) The ETS disc brakes and the bike were both shipped without a drop of oil - wherein i ve seen and read claims of bajaj shipping the bike with KBX disc brakes as std fitment ,and as a result the engine overheated even after a small ride of 2-3kms - when i claimed this fact in the showroom ,

    5) The bikes gear slip from 5th to 3rd or from 5th to 4th INVOLUNTARILY ------I ve heard so this as a common prob in new pulsars , but when i claimed it in my first service - they said they would do the needful but the bike has clocked 9700 kms till date - the condition of the gear slipping has only become more worse and really risky to drive at higher speeds as the skids when the bike suddenly changes into a lower gear and the tyres are very poor let go in this case-
also the bike falls from 2 nd to neutral without any relevance ..till today there has not been a solution to the problem,

    6) the engine freezes while riding and the bike has pathetic parts -they r loose and untrustworthy when t comes for a long ride

I Would like to know what best can be done in this case and pls reply back to me on higirish71@gmail.com, I would give further details on demand ,expecting justice from your end ,

    thanking you sincerely ,

    Sir,

This is Nitin Gandhi. On 14th, November, 2011. I bought a brand new Pulsar 150 from Bagga Link Service Ltd. at Saraswati Vihar, New Delhi.

I am disappointed because their product has not performed as it should, because they said that engine is seized and also asking for wear & tear and packaging expenses to repair it. I have already raised my problem andregistered a complaint and my complaint no. is 98307 but haven't got a satisfactory response from them yet. My simple & genuine question to bajaj, after 2 services on time then engine seized, is this what they will term it as, a system failure or machine failure which is bit obvious a manufacturing defect, where in a bike which is 3 months old has to under go engine opening, its sheer negligence on the part of manufacturing resulting in a nightmare for me, which is actually not allowing me to concentrate on my work & keep communicating with different authorities for the resolution of my problem.

I also spoke to Mr. Subramaniam who is the GM of Bajaj Auto and he also misbehaved with me over the phone, when i called him to talk about my problem. I am also fed up of them now and going to complaint against Bajaj Auto in consumer court. If there is any other way out u can suggest on my email nitingandhi1981@gmail.com
