I had a salary account with ICICI in Gurgaon. Based on the relationship, I was issued a credit card in the month of July'07. In the month of February'08, I got a new Job and shifted to Guwahati, Assam. I made a request to phone banking officer to change my address and E-mail ID as my earlier mail ID was my official ID and I cannot access that ID any more. However the change in contact details never took place. Another salary account was created in ICICI Bank in Guwahati. Every month I used to call up customer care to know my transaction details and amount due, and used to make payment till May'08. There was not a single instance of late payment against the card till May'08.Every time I used to request for change of contact details, but it never happened even after the commitments made by the phone banking officer. In June'08, when In called to check the amount due, it was communicated to me that due date is already over and I have to bear late payment charges.I got frusturated as I didn't receive any statement however the phne banking officer reluctantly said statement was mailed to me and hard copy delivered at my residence, all communications to my old address.I demanded a immediate resolution and escalation of the problem.One month later, when I called up to check status of my request, it was communicated that collection people are trying to reach me, but my no is not working. This time the representative took action to update my phone no, but not my address and Email ID. Thereafter I used to receie calls for payment, everytime I used to request for a settlement by waiving off the interest and late payment charges, but nothing was done on that even after the commitments made by the representatives. Suddenly in November or December'08, my savins account in Gurgaon branch was auto debited by 4000(approx) without any communication to me, and the account balance became zero. Upon calling up customer care, they informed auto debit was initiated by collection dept as a reslt of non paymetn against myy card. I again made a request for settlement. But nobody turned up even after the assurance that somebody from collection deptt would contact me shortly. Again in July, my new salary account was auto debited by 13500 (approx).Plz note my salary account is in no way related to the credit card and I've been penalized with the interest and late payment charges, despite of my efforts for a settlement against the card. Plz suggest what should I do to get a refund and settle out the card due.
