i have deposited a cheque amounting Rs. 1,49,000/- in the above mentioned bank,s Delhi branch situated at sector-16, rohini, I am having saving account no.-11362.i have deposited the cheque at the branch on dtd. 15 april , 2009.but after three days when i went bank to check the position of my cheque. i was told by bank officers that paa book updation is not possible as it is time igf clearing cheques . i was ordered to come on before 11 am as they only update pass book from 10 to 11 am .after that they are too busy to do service for general public.when i told them that i have to atten court and i am not able to come at those timings they again said that your cheque iis cleared and amount is credited to your accoutn and no need to check it ,update passbook when you have time, .then i returned back, but after some days when i come to know that no entry is reflecting in my pass book regarding that cheque.then manager said to me that you have not deposited it in our bank. I was very shocked that my cheque has been lost by them .till date they are not helping me and it is very harassing from their part that bank people are not taking cheques by hand, they insist all customers to drop the cheque in their drop box.when requested to take the cheque by hand and acknowledge it, they start arguing and sometimes become abusive.
as i have lost my cheque due to their irresponsible behaviour and i have to run here and there to make another cheque. and it took about three months besides mental pain, torture, harassment and exhaustion in this process. i have lost nearabout Rs.5000/- as interest of the amount and damages for all this trauma is Rs. 15,000/- .
so , i demand a sum of Rs. 20,000/- from the bank as compensation to me
