    Default Frozen Account

I have had an account with ICICI bank, Hyderabad over the last three years. It was a salary account. I left the job after an year but was still continuing with transactions int he account till the last ten days at least. Yesterday, when i try to withdraw money from the account, I find that it is frozen. On enquiry at the adjacent branch office, I was told that it was frozen because the account was a salary account and there has been no salary being credited into it. But my account was extremely active and I have a lot of money, which is basically my expense money in that. The bank refuses to release the money unless I change it to a savings account or cancel the account. I understand that banking procedures may be so, can the bank do this without intimating the customer in any manner and leave the customer high and dry? The customer care executive was not int he least helpful nor apologetic and kept insisting that they have sent a message to my mobile. Does ICICI Bank think that anybody would be foolish enough too let there money freeze itself to death, when intimation has been given? I am living alone with my daughter in this city with my money with a bank which refuses to address customer concern. Please tell me what are my options for immediste release of my money, which I desperately need now.

Default beware of Third-Class Bank, ICICI bank

I have same complaint Vinithaj has. I had salary account with ICICI, which they have blocked now. One of my friend deposited Rs. 20,000/- to my account on my request because I was in dire need of money. When I went to withdraw the same, i came to know the account freezed by the bank due to "No-salary-deposits." This is not the first time i have complaints about ICICI, but probably this would be the last, as I won't be continuing with it now onwards. it's a third-class bank i have ever encountered.

My question to bank is if they have freezed the account, how can you accept deposits? What a rubbish bank, I can't express my feelings. I am in big trouble due to this hopeless bank. I am not asking any solutions here. I just want to you all readers to beware of this bank. That's it.
