The World Bank has approved a loan of Rs.30 billion for a project to upgrade a national highway in Bihar.

The loan will be used for building a proposed four-lane carriageway on the 513-km Lucknow-Muzaffarpur highway, , an official statement said Tuesday.

The feasibility study and design and environment assessment of the project is being carried out by consultants funded by the National Highway Authority of India.
