This is complaint against Citibank for not giving Credit of
Rs.2,399/- inspite of submission of Credit Transaction Slip four times.
On 8th Feb, 2006, I booked a ticket for Goa at Sahara Airlines
for flight dated 11th Feb, 2006. I paid the entire amount (Rs.2,399/-) through
my Diners Club International Card. But at last moment, Sahara Airlines cancelled
the flight due to technical fault. Their Airport staff assured me a Full Refund,
in writing, whenever I return to Mumbai. So I immeditely booked another ticket
of Kingfisher by paying Rs.4,500 additionally/ separately to continue my
journey. When I returned to Mumbai on 24th Feb, 2006, I immediately approached
Sahara's Airport Office for refund of Rs.2,399/-. They asked me to get original
chargeslip, dated 8th Feb 2006, for getting refund. On 25th February, 2006, when
I approached Sahara's Airport Office, they took my Diners Club Card & imprinted
a Credit Transaction Chargeslip with three copies. They handed over a
Cardmember's Copy (Red Colour) & assured me that the Credit would be given
within 15 days. But even after 15 days, when the
credit was not reflected in my Diners Club Card Account, I approached Citi Bank
(sole issuer of Diners Club International Card), which told me to fax Customer
Copy of Chargeslip. I did the same immediately. After 5 days, they informed me
that they scanned that fax copy, (which they received from me) to send it to
their Chennai Office & their Chennai Office didn't receive that scanned copy
properly. (What it my fault that their Chennai Office didn't receive scanned
copy properly???)
Again Citibank requested me to send that Credit transaction
copy by courier, which I sent it immedietly. Now daily I call them up to know
the status of the same and every time their new Citiphone officer takes down my
complaint & gives me a new Request Number.
So friends, next time when you cancel your ticket, Get an
assurance from Airlines that it would refund amount in cash, if customer does
not receive refund within 15 days.

Please wait for some more time, in the meanwhile keep pursuing the case. Keep
all your records methodically. If nothing happens, file a case, making City Bank
the first respondent and Sahara Airlines the second and demand interest for the
delayed payment along with compensation for harassment and litigation cost
