I have a query on the topic of bounced cheque - my landlord had issued me a cheque drawn on State Bank of Hyderabad for Rs. 9000/- and it bounced. The cheque was of my very own money which he had taken as security deposit. Now that the cheque has bounced, I don't have much hope of getting the money back but I want to make sure that he does not repeat this in future with any other tenant.
Can you tell me how I can initiate a legal proceeding against him?
I have a copy of thr rental agreement as well as a receipt of the security deposit of Rs 9000/- although it is on a blank sheet of paper (not stamp paper) affixed with a Re 1 revenue stamp with my landlord's signature on it.
Please help me out in this situation, India has to get rid of its rogues before we can call it a developing economy.
Regards
