I Venkatesh B hold an SB account ( 00761050217466) with HDFC Bank, MG road Branch, Bangalore since 2005 April. I received a DD from HDFC on account of cash on call loan facility and had deposited (25-01-2012 @ 10 15 hours) the same by visiting the branch personally as the name in DD issued (B.Venkatesh) has difference from my name in Account (Venkatesh).

I had personally visited the branch all the way from Madiwala to ensure that DD is deposited and get my money ontime to meet some of my urgent and critical Financial requirement. I cheques with the help desk and reverified my account number.

I was directed to DD counter in the branch, I went and submitted my DD along with the counterfoil. I had asked the teller across the counter to cross verify and let me know for which the lady across the counter was ignorant and promised me the DD would be encashed on the same day (25-01-2012) evening without even verifying the amount of DD nor the Name.

I checked my account on 27-01-2012 @ 09 45 AM to check on the creditto my account as 26th Jan was a holiday (unfotunately my birthday too ). The amount was not credited too... I called a phone banking of HDFC where a woman very courteously and caringly informed me due to the difference of Name in DD and Account the DD has been put on hold. To add to the worse I was travelling out of station since then and was not in my location. I mentioned the same to the Phone banker. She said my branch(MG ROad) people will call me in an hours time or so. But the call dint come till 11 30 hours.. I once again called the customer care desk and another ady by Name chaitra promised me sayng MG road brnach will approach me in some time. Chaitra called me again and re-confirmed the same understanding the problem I was going through.

I received call from Ms.Indrani from HDFC, MG road Branch @ 17 00 hours on 27th Jan 2012 saying that I have to visit the bank and submit my ID proof. I mentioned to her stating I'm out of town and will not be able to do that. She again called me @ 19 45 hours and said his manager will get in touch with me next morning

Mr. Manese Peter from MG road branch called me on 28-01-2012 (Saturday) @ 10 30 hours asking for my ID proof. I sent the same and Manese again called me courteously called me to confirm the receipt of the same. However, since the cut off time for clearance has crossed by then credit could not happen on 28th too ... The amount was finally credited to me on 30-01-2012.

I'm raising this complaint against the ignorant staff of HDFC who has caused delay of payment by 5 days for her ignorance of 5 minutes job to verify account name and collect necessary documents when the customer was in. I infact had applied for this loan to clear a very urgent financial need and the same was spoilt by the ignorant teller. I was under tremendous pressure for 5 days as I had promised to pay some one the amount of a lakh of rupee.

I had spoilt my entire vacation of 5 days in the stress caused by the delay and infact had met with a small accident which led to spent of 10k in my car. I would like to bring it to the notice that I get compensated for the delay of credit and also for the huge amount of mental stress which has caused lot of quarel and mental agony I had passed through the period.
