This is a discussion on Standard Charted Bank not updating CIBIL record within the Bank Account forums, part of the Banking category; I used to have a Mileage account from Standard Charted bank which kind of an Auto Loan an OD account ...
I used to have a Mileage account from Standard Charted bank which kind of an Auto Loan an OD account for which the limit was 2,25,000. In January 2011 i paid the amount in full and closed my Mileage account with them. In the month of February 2011 i got my NOC and zero balance statement from the bank.In December 2011 i applied for a car loan and wanted to exchange my existing car, after submitting the documents with HDFC Bank my loan was rejected and the reason told to me was that there is an OVERDUE amount of 2,25,000 for an Auto Loan from Standard Charted Bank. I was amazed to hear this as i had already made the Full Payment to the bank in January 2011. I started having email exchanges with the Standard Charted bank where they accepted that the record was not updated and will get it done, however there is no point of that as even if they update the record i will not get that value for my existing vehicle as the value will depreciate more, the dealers will not be giving me the offers and discounts that was told in December and on top of it Maruti has also raised its car prices. My CIBIL record has further gone for a toss as there will be another rejection displaying from HDFC Bank. Who is sufferer, its me the consumer who even after paying every single penny to the bank still is suffering.
