Default Cheque not honoured stating " Reffered to Drawee"

    Dear Sir,

I have my salary account with a co-operative bank and I was working on a contract basis for the same bank.

I have resigned the service without serving a notice period. My contract agreement has a claws stating "Termination of services:- Your service may be terminated with one months notice in writing on either side.". There is no mention of payment to be made if the notice is not served.

I have deposited my cheque from this co-op bank account to another account of mine. The cheque was retured by the co-op bank stating
    " Referred to Drawer".

Please guide me if an employer can freeze the savings account based on above mentioned contract term and return a cheque.

    Regards,
    Raj

I am waiting for a revert on the above mentioned issue. If the Bank has no right to return my cheque for the notice period not served i would love to go legal as they are not reverting on any mails for me being ready to serve the notice period and they insisting on pay.

The account was not opened by the Bank. It was opened by me with an initial deposit of Rs.1000.00 for the salary to be credited.

Request your revert on the same.

On 18th Jan 2012 I receive an SMS stating my account has been debited with 21000 as a funds transfer. Can a bank credit salary to the account and then debit the same for notice period not served without customers instructions.
