their living over their pension only....
My father, Col BM Chopra, opened an account in the mentioned bank with Rs.10,000/- and without doing even a single transaction, we are told to
close the account as the account has Nil balance and the bank has charged
all the amount as services charges...
Please find attached mail that we sent across to the bank :
Subject: Account details for Account number 52310269551...
Reference to my account number 52310269551 w.r.t Col BM Chopra.
My distant relation, "Bhavesh Marwah", who was doing MBA, was attached to
your bank, and was required to open certain bank accounts in one of your New
Delhi branches. He visited me and insisted to open my account in your bank.
He neither gave any instructions nor told me any thing about any requisite
requirements.
I issued a cheque no. 926612 on 1st Aug 2002 for Rs.10,000/- (Rupees Ten
Thousand Only) from my account at Bank of India, Parliament Street Branch,
which was debited in my account on 2nd Aug 2002. My above mentioned account
was opened vide a letter from Standard Chartered Bank, Phone banking, 17
Parliament Street, New Delhi on 3rd Aug 2002.
I never operated my account till date, I never received any credit card and
I have made no use of the credit card. In fact, I did not even know the
location of my bank till recently when I received your letter dated 15th Dec
2004 stating --- that the balance in my above mentioned account is nil. It
is not understood as to how the balance of my account has been reduced to
Zero when I have not made any transactions.
You are requested to revive the amount since I have not made any omission /
commission. Further, it is for your information that I have NOT received any
communication from the Bank. No statement of account has been received by me
from your bank during this period.
I am a retired Army officer and sustain my living on pension.
I am a senior citizen (my date of birth is 24 July 1934). Keeping all the
factors in view, you are requested to reinstate the money in my account.
Thanking you,
Yours Sincerely,
