Dear Sir/Madam,

This is to bring to you notice that i was holding a salary bank account with Centurian Bank of Punjab which later on acquired by HDFC bank (A/C No.02991000056017).

The account was opened by my employer in June,2008. I resigned from that company in the same month and due to this no salary was deposited into the same.

Later on, in Feb 2009 I received 1 account statement from HDFC bank, which was showing 0 debit balance, 0 credit balance and 0 overall balance.when I talked to their customer care through telephone they told that I can close the account after visiting to branch and submitting account closure form.

on 18July, 2009 I visited the respective and when submitted the a/c closure form it was told to me that I have to deposit Rs.2100 then only I can close the account.It was very shocking to me that till date bank never told about this and Salary account is zero balance account.

Now please let me know what to do. As i don't want to pay for the having zero balance account.Now,I want to lodge a compalint against them.As according to RBI banking act section 8(1)(m).
