My company has tie ups with HSBC for salary account. However, when I registered for netbanking and logged in, all services were disabled and a security device must be ordered to enable this.
The cost of security device is Rs. 500. Tha means to operate our bank account fully we need to pay Rs. 500 to HSBC, compulsory.
No other bank charges such as steep charge to salary account customers and there are a whole lot of benefits.
HSBC is looting salary account customers by making it compulsory to buy security device.
This is totally bad business practice. Those who are serious about security will buy the device , those who dont want will not.
And recently I heard the news that RSA servers were hacked and security devices were compromised.
HSBC should stop making the security devices mandatory. Even CITIBANK does not offer security device by default.
