I had opened Kotak Securities trading account. After sometime a guy from Kotak bank opened Zero Balance Saving account facility was provided to me at free of cost.
I had submitted an application to Kotak Mahindra Bank, Lavelle Road Branch, Bangalore for closing of my A/c on 27-Jun-09. The executive, whom I had submitted Cheque book and ATM card, had not given me any written confirmation for closing of abovesaid account and orally told me that we have received your application for closing of account and your account will be closed soon.
Today, I found that my account is still active and not closed. Further, charges of Rs. 800+ (approx.) have been debited to my account for Non-maintenance of account on 03-Jul-09. I have been informed that I will have to pay these charges and without paying these charges, the account will not be closed.
Why should I pay these charges? What should I do?
