Incorrect debiting of my salary account

    Default Incorrect debiting of my salary account

    Reference my saving salary account no. 00781050006531, this account is operational for over 10 yrs., and as per the communication from my corporate is a zero balance account.

    However I regret to write that in last six months HDFC for reasons best known to them twice debited my salary account with charges under AQB head.

    The last such debit was effected on 25th April 11 of Rs.827.00 and the matter was reported to Mr. Vipul and Mr. Sudhanshu Mehrotra .Mr . Sudhanshu in turn promptly addressed my complaint and assured me of getting the reversal done. During our discussion on the issue I had categorically asked Mr. Sudhanshu to ensure that due to this wrong doing none of my transaction should be dishonored which was assured by also.

    However despite of all initial promptness from HDFC the reversal in this account was affected on 28th April and worst that on the same day an ECS of Rs.1393.00 for this account was dishonored.

    I would like to have your response on the following:



    1.What if I had not been checking my account status on a regular basis and this debiting would had gone unnoticed which I am sure is likely to happen with lot many of my colleagues specially since it has happened with me twice in a short span.



    2. Who compensates for the mental agony I have gone through?



    3. The ECS dishonored was of my LIC premium and I would now have to deposit the monthly premiums by cash and in person which definitely is a punishment for me for no fault of mine.



    4.I will now have to not only deposit the denied ECS through cash but would also have to pay dishonored charges again for no fault of mine.



    5. How can HDFC at the first place effect such transaction when account code clearly indicates that the account is a salary account and then go on to hold the debit and customer’s money for 3 days?



    The above reflects very poorly on efficiency of a bank which has been rated very high in banking sector, has been winning awards and gives best of services.
