Dear Sir,

My name is Krishna Dulal Dutta Gupta a retired Air Force man. I have an pension account in Canara bank in Subroto Park AFGIS branch. My account number is - 19611013002 and my pension code is - 08/14/B/06528/1991. In thew month of August 2010 last year there was an increase in my pension and I was suppose to get my increament and also the arrears. Which I did receive in my bank account, but I could not know the eact increament and amount of arrear I was suppose to receive.

After month of August 2010 till January 2011 in my Canara Bank account a sum of Rs. 60,000 to 70,000 was credited every month. The total amount that was credited in my account was Rs.1,90,000. This entire amount was mistakenly transferred into my account by the bank. Continously for 6 months these huge amount was credited into my account by bank. The bank made this huge blunder and did'nt even realize that they are doing this mistake.

Sir what my complaint is that I am an aged person, staying in Kolkatta. i dont have enough savings that I can travel from Delhi to Kolkatta. When I found these amount in my bank I tried to contact Canara Bank in kolkatta, they said to speak to the main branch in New Delhi. But it was not possible for me to do so. Moreover During that period of time three deaths took place at my home, my mother my younger brother passed away. I was so disturbed and couldnot even contact the New delhi branch. As at a stretch it was for 6 months the money was transfered into my account I thought it would be my money. I had used some of the monsy from that amount.

I was left with Rs.1,06,000. After the month of February 2010the bank suddenly deducted the entire left out amount. Now I am not left with a single penny. I came to New delhi and contacted the Canara Bank in Subroto Park they said it was transfered by mistake into your account, so now they have come to know about their mistake. There is a pension department in the Bank, the employees to that department is saying I have to repay the remainng amount asap or else 18% interest will put on me to repay the amount. And also I have to pay the Income Tax on the total Rs.1,90,000.
Sir why should I have to pay the interest and Income Tax?? This was not my fault. This was Bank's fault that for six months they kept transfering money into my account. I am a pension holder, from where should I pay the rest amount? It is the Bank's duty to keep a track of all the transaction. How a bank could do this BLUNDER ??? Rs.1,90,000 is not at all a small amount. How they had transferred such a huge amount into my account?? A bank should not be doing this kind of blunder. Money is coming to my account I would think it is my money. Is it possible for a older person to run door to door and enquire about the each and every thing?? It is the Bank responsibility to take care of the transaction. A normal person can do a wrong transaction, BUT A BANK SHOULD NOT BE DOING SUCH A BLUNDER. I am not left with single penny. Pension is the only last earning for me at this age. I dont have any other income source. If bank does these kinds of blunder then how we general citizen would leave peacefully.

Sir I desperately need your help and sort this out asap. Please look into it urgently. Iam aged person I cant really leave without my pension. I tried to lodge an online complaint in RBI website but the site did't work.
Waiting for your reply with a positve response.
