Irresponsible Banking Services ICICI has frozen my very active account on the grounds that it was a salary account and salary is not being credited in it. My query is only this- 1) Can the bank freeze my account without intimating me? 2) It was a active account and money was credited into the account as recently as 8/December/2010 too.
I have no credit card not do I owe the bank any money. My money is held up with ICICI and I want the bank to unfreeze my account immediately for the simple reason that they have not informed me of the impending steps they are taking.
What are my consumer rights on this issue?

I did get in touch with the Branch Deputy Manager. Who took timely steps to resolve the issue. But this has left a bad taste in my mouth, coz the bank is at fault clearly- having not informed me of policies either by post, phone or even an SMS. It just once again brings out the bank's inconsiderate attitude towards customers, if nothing else. My husband and I are seriously considering having nothing to do with ICICI anymore.
