Default Charges Debited by ICICI BANK IN CURRENT ACCOUNT

    Dear Friends,

I have a current account with ICICI Bank opened a few months back with there
    FerozGandhi Branch,Ludhiana.

I issued a cheque to one of my vendors in Kolkatta the cheque was passed.

The bank levied charges of Rs.139.16/- on account of the cheque cleared on non
    base location.

I have a Current Account with UCO Bank also in Ludhiana.I also issue cheques
from that account also but no charges have been charged since many years.

    Please help.

    Regards,

    Robin Gupta

    Hi
It is a issue to be done depending on your terms when u opened u r
account.Normally there shouldnt be any charges for cheque payment.Better make
an enquiry reg this to u r branch manager and no point in taking to the useless
    customer service executive

Even verbal inquiries shall not help. Better issue a letter to your branch
manager and ensure to get its acknowledgement. It may be ideal to fax them and
on reminder ensure to give a threat of taking the matter to Ombudsman/Consumer
court. Send a copy to rbi the regulating body. ICICI is one of the worst bank
to debit any amount and not respond to any inquiries. C K BHATIA

    Dear All

The greatest private bank of India which due to some rumors was on the brink of
collapse and subsequently saved by the govt. of India assurance in parliament
that no Indian bank has large exposure and it also led to pasting of RBI notices
at the ATM machines. It is now doing great things by recovering sundry amounts
from the depositers. Now the minimum balance in saving acount is Rs. 10000/-
instead of Rs. 5000/- few months back. All fees and service charges are
    increased to the maximum limit.

In your case , you have issued a multicity cheque to kolkatta party. Now you
have to pay multicity cheque charges for this. You may read the same in their
fees and service charges on their website. I have also stopped issuing cheque of
ICICI bank and use other banks as they do not levy charges for at par cheques.
They have started these charges in May-08 only. They also did the same thing to
me when I issued at par cheque. You may try HDFC bank or start net banking. Days
are not far when ICICI bank will levy charges on NEFT too.

Sir, I fully agree with u. I am one of the traders in ICICI Direct.com. 2
months back I traded some shares on intra day basis. They charged delivery
brokerage instead of intraday brokerage. When I contacted thru mail they are
    telling one story or other.

ICICI Bank got bad image with the retail investors. If they don't mend their
ways, the time is not far away to see their dark days.

    thanks,
