Hello,

I had taken salary account of ICICI bank in 2005 when i was working
in a company. I left that company after a period of 6 month.

As the bank account was salary account and if no salary has been
deposited to that account it should get closed which is supposed to
happen.

However ICICI bank has trasferred my salary account which was 0
balance account into the regular account, for which customer needs to
keep minimum balance of 5,000 as per ICICI rule.

As ICICI has not informed me that they have trasferred my account to
regular account and suddently in jan 2008 i got a bank statement that
i need to pay 4,600 Rs as a fine for not keeping minimum balance for
the period of 2 years.

Bank has not given me any information for this change and suddently
send me the bank statement.

When spoken to customer support executive of ICICI they told that as
per the record i have not accessed the account during last 2 yr. so
no services has been used by me during this period, so i can go ahead
and negotiate this with bank manager to cut down the charges.

But bank manager is not ready to leasson and told me that i have to
pay the fine else ICICI will send loan recovery person (Gundas) at my
home and they wil taken away expensive goods from my home.

It is very bad experience and i m become victim of this strange rule
of ICICI which is not supported by Indian law.

But still Bank forcing me to pay the charges.
Please suggest me any help and possible way to get out of this
situation.
