    Angry Unfair HDFC Average Quarterly Balance charges

    Dear sir

    I have a salary account with HDFC bank from Vcustomers Pune.. and i was told that i dont have any AQB ..but then i changed my company To IBM India ,and i was offerred Citibank there ,and i was not using my HDFC account and since one year there was not a single contact from them they stopped sending email statements also and when i logged in to netbanking i see that they updated my email address to some other email its unfair...but this HDFC bank people ,even having my all details correctly and changed it to other without my consent, they don't even contacted me that they are moving my account to normal and and will have AQB charges on my account,

    In last month and this month they deducted about RS3500 from account ,when someone sent me some funds of 2lacs .without informing also they charged me phone banking charges...this is ridiculous, atleast they should have informed me that i would have to maintain AQB ,still they have not telling me what is my AQB, i tried to contact the customer service, but i don't think they are willing to help, worst customer service.. i just want my money bank they deducted from my account for AQB ,since i was not at all informed about the AQB charges..here is the attached details of it.:-.

    We offer a host of facilities to the corporate salary account which can be availed of only till you are employed in the organization, on whose recommendation the account was opened or till the employer credits your salary to this account.

    We have checked our records and confirm that your account status is that of an resigned employee. Hence, you need to maintain the minimum Average Quarterly Balance of Rs.10000.00 in your account number ending with 306.

    Please help me, i want my money back...because its their fault they should have contacted me..they are taking customers money...Please suggest what shall i do, shall i close account from HDFC.. and move to some other bank because i cant see any transparency in working of this bank.. they just steal peoples money.. My account no is 00391050175306 .. Pune Boat Club Branch....They also updated my email address incorrect suddenly which doesnt belong to me.i dont know what kind of service is this..

    Dear Sir,

    A smiliar case has happened with me, where I was about to discontinue my account & one of the reprsentative of HDFC bacnk told me to continue & while discussion he said dont worry there wont be any charges as such. Also know I have another account with IDBI, where they have assured that the charges of AVG QTR BAL has been waived off, then how come HDFC can pull it from their customers account.

    I can only say if this continues, then it would quiet unethical service been provided to customer & so how do we trust that our money (earned with hardwork) is safe with HDFC.

    I am not happy with the service & I want my money too to be credited to my account & if the bank wish to dicontinue my account with them, I am more open towards it.

    Please help me to get this fix & others to not face the similiar kind of issue.

    Thumbs down HDFC Bank charged me without informing.

    Dear All,


    I have an HDFC bank account with no: 00211050517287 from 08-02-2008 which was opened to me by HDFC standard life when i was working there. When I left the job within 2 or 3 months of joining and as time passed my father asked me to close the account because there might be some problems. When I enquired about account closure, i was told that there is no problem if you leave it open because it is a zero balance account.

    Then, my wife also told me to leave it because we might have use in the future. As time passed we started using credit card and also shopped and booked movie tickets and used existing HDFC Account to pay our credit card bills.

    Now that I have a business I wanted to start using HDFC Bank account in full swing. I paid a cheque of Rs.2208/- dated 12-10-2011 to justdial for my business expansion and also deposited Rs.3000/- in the bank and was waiting for justdial to start the services. When it was more than a week i contacted the bank if the money was withdrawn by Justdial or not. I came to know the balance of my account was Rs.2172.75/- only. Whereas I had deposited 3000/-. On 17th or 18th of October 2011 I was visited HDFC Lakdikapul branch in Hyderabad. I expressed my problems and requested for reversal of AQB charges of Rs. 827.25 which was levied on 12-10-2011. The Branch Operations Manager has asked me to write an application for reversal of charges, which I did. I was told that it would take a week for the process.

    When I went to check again on 28-10-2011, I was shocked to see my statement. More charges were levied 827.25 + 825.33 + 520.17 on 27-10-2011. I also spoke to the Branch Manager and requested him to help me but he was adament and kept on saying that it was my fault.

    But even then I was waiting for atleast one AQB charges to be reversed if not all. Now I lost more than Rs.3000/- and faith from private banking system. I was not informed for any of these charges. I want my money back.

    I am maintaining a three in one account (Demat, Savigs & Debit Card) no.02791000057309 with HDFC Bank, Faridabad.

    As per terms & conditions, minimum balance of Rs. 5,000/- is required to be maintained in the said account. But I was shocked to know that a sum of Rs 827.25 has been arbitrarily charged to my said account for July,2011 - Sept., 2011 quarter due to balance of Rs.7,354/- (as minimum balance fell below Rs.10,000/-). No intimation for maintaining minimum balance of Rs.10,000/- has been given to me before charging penalty of Rs.827.25.

    You are, therefore, requested to kindly look into the above matter and issue instructions for refund of Rs.827.25 wrongly charged without any prior intimation/notice
