As you mentioned that the branch employees are not helping you then send a written notice via registered post to the CMD of syndicate bank, mention all the details in it, attache all the photocopy of statement and the passbook and ask them for the refund + damages.
Note: Do not forget to keep the slip of registered post in safe, it will help you to drag the parent company to the consumer forum, if the parent company will not solve the issue with in the mention time of 10 working days.
