    Default ICICI Bank's Felony

    Udupi.

    Between:
    Anil Kumar
    Krishna Kripa, Banker's Colony,
    Moodabettu, Katapadi. Udupi.

    And:
    ICICI Bank Ltd,
    Udupi Branch,
    Kasturba Hospital Complex, Main Road,
    Udupi. 576104.

    Dear Sir,
    Sub: Closure of the account.

I would like to bring to your notice that I had bank account in the ICICI Bank Udupi branch, which has not been operated since past three years. My Bank account number is 007201500089. Its a savings account. I have written a letter, twice, instructing them to close the account and since I couldn't go to the Udupi branch, I had it couriered. I had mentioned all the details including my debit card number, my account number and my valid signature. I was compelled to do that, since the branch I visited in mumbai, told me that I had to go to the Udupi branch, inorder to close the account, which I couldn't do so. Even after repeated instruction, they have not closed my account and they keep sending me the statement instructing me of the negative balance that I have incurred. The last statement I received in the month of March, with a negative balance of Rs.8,672. Now this doesn't make any sense since I had instructed the branch to close the account and they haven't done that.

My only question is why have they been charging me every quarter without even bothering to send a notice to me instructing me about the status. Why are they trying to cheat people and make money the wrong way. Why are they trying to sabotage the bank reputation? Since I have already instructed them to close the account, I shouldn't be liable to make the payment.

Its totally unfair practice by the bank.

    Please do help me out.
