I have an account with Axis Bank since 2002-2003. I have never requested for a priority banking but because of the kind of transactions i was doing, the bank automatically changed me to priority banking. In year 2009, i reduced the transactions with the bank but still kept the account open since i moved to another city. From Mar 2009, the bank has been charging me fees related to priority banking which i did not notice since i was not even aware that i am priority banking customer! After two quartes, i noticed and i intimated the bank to change my account to a normal savings account. No one at the bank ever responded to my request despite a followup of close to 2 months. No one at the bank even paid any attention to the request and has again charged me with the fees this quarter. What should i do? How can i protect my interests and get the fees refunded as well as change the account to a normal account.
