My office is placed in SIPCOT, siruseri. On 3^rd Jan 2012, I had shifted to MM Hostel in Mylapore as my friend stays there.

I have paid registration fees Rs.500 which is not refundable, Monthly rent Rs.3900 and Advance Rs.3900 which is refundable when i leave from the hostel.

Since I didn’t get good transport service, I was thinking to vacate from the hostel in one month and searching home nearby office. On 20^th Jan 2012, I had informed Janki (Warden) about my decision. She said that I would have informed her before one month and so advance money would not be refunded. I asked her to check with Hostel Owner and let me know about it.

As Janki went her native, I talked with owner directly about it. She said the same [I would have informed before one month]. She came to the decision to refund Rs.1500 to me. Again I asked her. She said that she would discuss with Janaki and inform me. On 30^th Jan 2012, Janki told me that Hostel Owner would give back my whole money and she would discuss with her on the same. I informed her that I would vacate on 1^st Feb 2012[Early morning]. But Janaki didn’t discuss with Hostel Owner about it till 1^st Feb 2012.

On 1^st Feb 2012 early morning she called owner and informed about it. She asked her to refund only Rs.1700. Again I talked with her about the situation that I had come on 3^rd Jan 2012 only. How I could inform you before one month? She replied that she could refund only Rs.2200 and if i didn’t accept, she asked me to talk with manager and also she said that you would not get back any money if you go to manager. If you want, you can take Rs.2200. If you don’t want, we would not refund any money. She asked me to decide it and cut the call.

I have taken Rs.2200 and vacated. I have receipts.


Could you please suggest me whether I can deal this through consumer complaint?
