Sir,

We were traveling from Bangalore to Mumbai by car and were stopped by a traffic policeman in Mumbai stating the reason of crossing the signal when red, when in-fact we did not do that. After repeated attempts at explaining, he persisted and stopped only our vehicle and let all the other vehicles pass. He openly stated to bribe him, if not for which he will not let us go. We had a few elderly people traveling with us who were already exhausted from the road trip and hence were forced to indulge in bribery as we had no other option left. Though I feel ashamed of this, I also feel that the traffic policeman was extremely unethical and wrong in giving us no other choice. We also offered to follow the rules but he repeatedly kept stating that a bribe would be quicker. Can you please help me on this? I have never before seen a traffic police man who refused to give us a notice and follow the processes.
