One more accused in the Godhra train fire of 2002 - in which 59 people were killed triggering communal violence in Gujarat - was arrested Tuesday.

Irfan Tatadiya was arrested at 10.30 a.m. from the Signal Faliya area in the central Gujarat town of Godhra, 140 km from here, police sources told .

Tatadiya had been absconding for a long time, but was nabbed from his residence after police received prior information, the sources said.

With Tatadiya's arrest, 108 out of the 131 accused have been nabbed. The state government has booked them under the provisions of the Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA) and a trial is on at the city-based POTA special court.

A review committee constituted by the central government has, however, said there was little evidence of a pre-planned conspiracy in the Godhra train fire. The committee has recommended revoking POTA charges against the accused.

Fifty-nine passengers, many of them Hindu pilgrims, were killed when two coaches of the Sabarmati Express caught fire in Godhra. The incident sparked statewide communal violence that claimed at least 1,000 lives, mostly Muslims.
