I live in Viman Nagar, Pune where as college students, we have to handle the harassment of the Autorickshaw drivers, almost everyday. For travelling locally, they charge Rs. 30 per trip(even when the distance is hardly a kilometer). They all have groups here, due to which we cant negotiate them. Some of them are even bad with their attitude of talking. Just today evening, I had to travel from Viman Nagar to Pune railway station. The meter reading said Rs. 7.40 which means Rs. 62 on the tariff card. I paid him the money according to the tarrif, and he started shouting and using bad words and demanded Rs. 70. This is not the case of each day, but almost everyday. When I asked him why I have to pay extra, he casually answered that he wants Rs. 70, there is no need to further discuss, thats my choice.
When I tried calling the number provided for reporting such complains on the tarrif card itself- 18002330012(as i have tried before also), the number is not answered by any person. Whether it is day or night, no one is there on the other side of the line to pick up the phone. This is becoming a cause of botheration as there is no limits left for being rude and charging any amount of money they want, + we cant compalin cause the number never works.
