To whomsoever concerned

I am writing to submit a complaint regarding an ATM transaction.
I am Ashwin Prakash, a customer of State Bank of Mysore, Hanumanthanagar, Bangalore-560019.

I made a withdrawal of rs 100 in the Indian Overseas Bank ATM located at 42/166 EAST END MAIN ROAD, Jayanagar, 9th BLOCK, BANGALORE-560069 ON June 21st 2011at 09 : 42 P.M. After the withdrawal i was unable to get the ATM card from the machine, so I had to leave the ATM card at the machine and walk out.
I went to the bank the next day and I was told that my ATM card had not been captured by the ATM and when I checked my balance in the account I noticed a debit of rs 2000 on the same day (June 21st 2011 at 09:43 P.M) which is a transaction which I have not carried out.

When I made an enquiry about this at Indian Overseas Bank, they were not too helpful because of which I took up the matter with State Bank of Mysore and i was asked to lodge a complaint against the additional transaction which had happened. I was told to submit the complaint requesting for CCTV footage for the same through the manager of SBM (Mr.Ranganath).

The manager of Indian Overseas Bank turned down my request saying that the CCTV was not working on June 21st 2011 which is a very lame reason today because of the state of the art technology used by banks these days. If at all they would suspect of theft, it is not possible as the pin had to be entered for every new transaction as per RBI guidelines.

I filed complaints again and again through Indian Overseas Bank which got no replies because of which I approached the higher authorities of Indian Overseas Bank and the conversation among us was as follows :

Subject: ATM transaction video surveillance images required -------Ashok T P

Dear Shri. A.Chandramohan,

I am writing to lodge a complaint regarding an atm transaction.
I am Ashwin Prakash, a customer of State Bank of Mysore in Bangalore.
I made a withdrawal of 100 rs in the IOB atm located at 42/166 EAST END MAIN ROAD, JAYANAGAR, 9TH BLOCK BANGALORE PIN : 560069 Dist : BANGALORE URBAN on June 21st 2011 at 09:42 P.M.
I have a debit of 2000 rs on the same day (June 21st 2011) at 09:43 P.M, which is a transaction i have not done and I am unaware of and has happened within a minute of the previous transaction.

I took the matter up with State Bank of Mysore and they asked me to lodge a complaint with IOB and request for the CCTV images of the atm, when i did so the manager of IOB gave me a reason that the cctv was not working on that particular day. Moreover the rule that we have to key in our pin for a second transaction was already existing.

I request you to please oblige and do the needful by either getting me the cctv surveillance or a reimbursement if its the atm's fault.

Please advise as necessary.

After which I had been to the bank today to collect the cctv images as advised by them. I met the manager Mr.Ram Joshi, he directed me to one Mr. Sridharan who told me that the cctv images are unavailable still. He did not even take time to go through the print outs of the mail that I had taken. He says that the reason for the same is that the ''CCTV was not working on that particular day''.
I have not been helped by both State Bank of Mysore as well as Indian Overseas Bank, I would request you to please help me out with this and advise as necessary
.

Thanks & Regards
Ashwin Prakash
