    The following mail sent to Canara Bank mail ID will narrate the whole incident:

    Hi Sir/Madam,

    Yesterday(27 th May 2009 , around 7:25-7:30pm) I used the Canara Bank's ATM at Mumbai CST station . Being an HDFC Bank customer , I had inserted HDFC's Debit Card & made the query for Withdrawl of money. Suddenly , I saw the ATM Operating System(Windows XP) shutting done & was unable to recover the ATM card of mine . I waited for the machine to restart & after that also I didn't get back the card. I felt helpless as there was no security guard positioned outside the ATM to assist me . I called the Customer care (Helpline no mentioned inside the ATM : 02226860817 - Canara Bank , Goregaon East Branch) a no of times but no one dared to pick up my call . Finally I had to block my card from HDFC Bank.
    Is this the type of service your bank provides to customers ? If Canara Bank cannot handle other Bank's customers it's better they mention it properly outside the ATM.
    Waiting for a favourable reply from your side. )


    I sent another reminder mail to them on 10 July 2009 16:32PM but still they didn't reply.
    I want a proper justification from the Canara Bank authorities & adequate compensation for the unnecessary harassment for their incompetency . Inspite of writing mails they don't care to reply.

    Default careless response from canara bank staff in NIOT branch chennai

    I hold an account with Canara bank since last five years. A/C# 5339-NIOT Branch-Chennai. Few months back i used my ATM debit card for a transaction for an amount of INR 600.00 at a hospital using HDFC terminal. I was told by the hospital person that the transaction did not go through on the first attempt and i was adviced to use the card once again which i did thinking it was not authorised the first time. Later i ended up paying twice. Its been six months now every time i speak to them they do not seem to solve the issue. Rather i was directed to the hospital and the acquirer bank HDFC on whose terminal the card was used. But they directed us back to the account holding branch. When i spoke to them most recently i was told the same procedures to be followed again. And most recently funds have been missing from my account. I was told that an amount of INR 53.00 was withdrawan as cash from the atm at 4.00 pm on a given day this month. On that particular day i was at home and i usual dont use cards very often. I walk into the branch to withdraw cash. More over no Indian banks or ATM's allow cash to be withdrawn in such an odd amount. Even for Swipe Usage no one Accepts Card Card Below INR 100. When i questioned about that to them, they came back with an answer saying its your card and you have used it we only have an information about the time and the amount .

    Default canara bank atm card not working

    Sir, I am having savings account at Canara Bank manimajra Chandigarh. I applied for the ATM cum debit card on November 4,2009. I was asked to fill another form later in Nov2009. Finally i got the card on feb 2,2010. But the pin and the card did not match and now it is more than 45 days that there is no response from officials of canara bank. i am thinking of filing consumer case for mental harassment and delay in services.

    Default ATM card discrepency -debiting wrong amount

    An amount of RS 614.25 was debited wrongly on 23rd and 24th April,2010 & the amount is still not rectified & credited to my Savings A/C in Shillong branch ,NEEPCO extention counter in Meghalaya ,INDIA inspite of my representation & subsequent reminders. The details are given below for perusal & rectification .

    On 18.09.2010 i have withdrawn Rs.2000 from southindian bank ATM in avadi branch(Chennai) at 12.41pm but that transcation was error. i didnt get cash in hand due to some technical problem. i got cash only at the second time at 12.43pm when i withdraw second time but my account was been debited for Rs.4000… so i kindly request you to check my account and cerdit me a Rs.2000 immediately….

    I am holding account in teynampet canara bank in chennai my account no 0416 1015 5684 63457 i used used my debit card to purchase some cloths on 11/10/2010 in dhevi export garments my bill amount is 2200.00(two thousand two hundred only) but it is been wrongly debited as 4400.00 .

    pls kindly credit the wrongly debited amount from my account

    Thumbs down Delivery of Debit Cards

    Canara Bank , Haldia Branch disburse Debit Card and the confidential PIN at a time , not first Debit card and after seven the confidential PIN. How far this is safe for a customer?

    Default ATM Related Complaints

    I am holding SB A/C no 1374111011486 Canara Bank at Broadway Chennai.I used my debit card at Ayyapapan Nagar Koyambedu S.10f000956106/SBI. Amount requested for with drawl Rs.2000/ on 26.01.2011 at 7.10am, the transaction was declined and at the same ATM again i requested for Rs.2000/ at7.18am on 26.01.2011. again the transaction was declined .Where as on the above same date Rs.2000 and rs.2000/ total Rs.4000/was debited in my SB a/c.I have lodged complaint to the bank with all details, till to-day no action was taken.

    Please credit the wrongly debited amount to my sb a/c.

    Default non acceptance of debit card for booking ticket with irctc
