    Default Loss and misuse of my debit Card complaint

    Dear Aditya Puri,
    It is very surprising to note that after seven months I get a letter saying As
    response received from insurance company , Since card holder forgot the card at ATM
    this is case of Customer Negligence In view of the same has been rejected.
    As per my knowledge insurance cover is to provide such instances of card loss and
    most of the ATM card are misplaced at ATM centre which are left back in the Machine.
    1.Please confirm why debit card are not covered under insurance if they are left by
    mistake in ATM.
    2.I am only claiming the charges which has been misused by some one in doing
    purchases on my card confirm why they are not covered .
    3. Please provide me email id where I can launch my complaint to reserve Bank.
    4. In spite of repeated reminder I have not received the Copy of CCTV coverage to
    hand it over to Police, The information which I got is that the there was some
    problem in CCTV camera and pictures are not very clear . Please explain what is my
    fault if CCTV has not captured the culprit because of poor maintenance.
    5.Please explain what is the safety in having debit card if it is not covered if
    misused or lost due to ignorance.
    6.When will I get CD of the Video footage which I have not received in spite of
    repeated request to concern department

    Dear Aditya Puri,
    I have been HDFC bank Cooperate Customer from last Ten years and have had wonderful
    experience dealing with the services of HDFC bank , recently on 31st October 2008
    by mistake I left my Debit card in ATM Machine at Rishab Vihar which I suppose is
    the most common complaint of loss of any card , As usual practice the Guard was not
    present on the gate but was sitting in his Room behind the ATM machine which I have
    observed couple of times earlier also.
    Next day morning when I realized that I have left my card in the ATM Machine I
    blocked my card and logged complaint on phone banking but by that time the person
    who operated ATM machine after me had misused the card and withdrew Rs 20000 from my
    account and did shopping of around Rs 30000 from my Debit card.
    As per instruction from Bank FIR of the complaint was registered and Papers were
    submitted in HDFC Karkardoma branch to Shilpa.
    Prompt action was taken on the complaint and investigation team was sent and every
    thing was verified , I was very pleased to see fast action and within a Week I got a
    call from the investigating team that they have got the CCTV footage and have
    identified the person who had visited ATM after me and wanted me to come along with
    him , as I was traveling I could not accompany with the concerned person who called
    me, mean while I was also informed that immediately they will transfer the balance
    in my account but I can not utilize it till the case is resolved which is a standard
    policy in case of card loss or misused by some one else.
    After that there was a complete silence I kept on checking on phone banking and the
    branch for transfer of Money and every time I got a response it will take some time
    . when 35 days passed I went to Karkardooma branch to get the information I was told
    that they have got no revert on this case till date and they will send reminder and
    let me know.
    Next day morning to my surprise I got a call from the Karkardooma branch that
    insurance company has rejected my case as card was lost because of my mistake (
    Most of the cards are lost because of mistake and that is why insurance cover is
    there) till date and I have not received any official communication on my complaint
    from Bank which is very surprising.
    I have a feeling that it is very risky to Keep any credit or Debit cards where
    there is insurance cover but bank is handicap and can do nothing for protecting
    there customers , If this is true I would like to cancel all the debit and credit
    cards of myself & my organization which is dealing with you from lass ten Years.
    I would request you to look into matter seriously and as a right for information
    want following details as I find some thing is fishy in entire investigation.

    1.CCTV footage of the Customer who used ATM after my transaction 7.24 pm to 7.34 pm
    on 31st October.
    2.Full details of investigation
    3.why have been no official communication sent to me on this case
    4.Identification of the person who was identified.
    5.Why money was not transferred in my account as per bank policy.
    6.Verification of Signature of all transaction slips where my card was misused

    Please find enclosed all the details of complaint

    Actually I am very disappointed with this episode as I have never expected and
    experienced such an casual attitude from HDFC bank, I would request you to revert
    back urgently if I don't receive any response within weeks time , I will be forced
    to take this matter to Finance Ministry and Press.

    Default Misuse of ATM card-No action from ICICI bank

    This is to inform you that I am M. Deepak Kumar Agarwal staying at H. No. 4-23/1 B, Royal ITC Collage, Near Jansi High School, Mallapur. My account no. is 006901535407.

    I lost my ATM card on 23.05.09 and came to know about it on 13.06.09. I have blocked the ATM card immediately after realizing loss of my ATM card.

    When I gone through the account statement, I found that nearly Rs. 60,000/- in drawn from my account. Most of transaction is by way of swapping the card for purchasing and a good some of money is drawn by ATM.

    On 15. 06. 09 I filed a complain with Nacaharam Police station and ICICI bank. I requested ICICI bank to arrange the camera clipping of their bank and requested for transaction details of other banks.

    After one week I received the camera clipping, I shocked to see that it is not clear.


    ICICI bank customer care informed me that they will take action on it and investigate the case.

    They lodge nearly 10 complains and said that they will arrange other bank camera clipping.

    Complain no. SR1097120443, SR109725048, SR109722427, SR 109723894, SR109263920, SR109263116, SR109264549, SR109863746, SR109263446,SR109263298

    Later on 15.07.09 I received a call from ICICI bank. They informed me that they can not arrange camera clipping and I have to visit other bank personally and ask camera clipping.


    I sent a mail to SBH bank for camera clipping, they replied that camera clipping cam be arrange if request received from ICICI bank.


    I informed same to ICICI bank and finally received the mail from them saying that they have investigated the case and found no result.


    I have a feeling that it is very risky to Keep any credit or Debit cards where there is insurance cover but bank is handicap and can do nothing for protecting there customers , If this is true I would like to cancel all the debit and credit cards of myself & my organization which is dealing with you from last two years.

    I would request you to look into matter seriously and as a right for information want following details as I find some thing is fishy in entire investigation.

    experienced such an casual attitude from ICICI bank, I would request you to revert

    to take this matter to FINANCE MINISTERY and MEDIA.

    I have lost my debit cards on sunday evening around 7 pm. Before I could block the cards the purchases have been done. I have lost nearly Rs.10,500/

    I had given police complaint.

    Default ICICI Bank Credit Card Department Complaint

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I am holding a credit card (5239511106734013) with ICICI bank. I received a call from ICICI Bank customer care that an EMI scheme is applicable on my card till 31st of July, 2009 and I can avail that. I did a shopping on 28th July, 2009 and called customer care to change that amount to EMI option. The customer care executive told me the processing fee and EMI for six months and assured me that it will be converted. But after seeing my e statement and the monthly statement I received, that shopping amount was not converted to EMI. After calling the bank they are telling me that they are helpless and they have withdrawn the scheme on 28th itself and I will have to pay the whole amount. I approached the senior members of the bank but they all are forcing me to pay the whole amount and clearly stated that inspite of being their mistake they cannot do anything. I told them that I will be taking the help of consumer forum they were fine with that also. I dont know, highlighting the complaint on this site would help me or not, but if seriously this site is monitored by any authorized person I would humbly request to take an action against these types of frauds by the companies so that the should atleast value their customers. I have the record of people, (Meeta, Chetan, Usha Rani) involved in this case so if you require to follow-up I am always there.

    These types of companies or banks feel that the customers cannot do anything and they can do whatever they want. Right now they are feeling that what exactly a single consumer can do against them and they will not be affected by this small incidence. Please suggest me what necessary actions can be taken against this fraud.

    Default Lost my card and has been misused

    Hello sir,

    My Citibank Credit Card Number was 5546 3796 8427 3004. I lost on 23rd October 2009 and i realized on 24th October 2009 and immediately blocked the same. But before that it was misused and Rs 31817.00 has been used.

    14 Transactions happened but I dont understand how even for one the guy was caught up. I Doubt the shop keepers also having a share on the same.

    hi,
    I am an Union Bank A/c holder. I used my atm card in outstation atm in non banking atm. During money withdrawl the card gets stuck and i don't get money disbursed and get money debited from my a/c. Now next day i called my bank to block my atm card, they tell me that there has been three transaction made from my card. Now, i need to know will bank of atm card used should answer that how my card is being misused during atm card was stuck in the atm.

    Post stucked at atm machine in bombay

    I have lost my ATM card.Actually i forgot it in to the ATM machine itself on 11/03/2010.I realized it on 13/03/10 moring and blocked my card immediatly.But before this my card has been missused for an amount of 8839 Rs.can any one please tell me how to get back that amount.
