if you have lost your debit- card follow the following steps and be safe.

Please file at mastercard or visacard who are the priciple providers of debit cards.
The mastercard or visacard has a facility wherin they can check the transaction done and at which place. The merchant who swipes such a debit card is more at risk , 2nd who is the principle looser is the debit card holder.
The person who has misused the card can be tracked down by the merchant copy. The signature by the misuser cannot tally with the owner of the debit card.
AT THE SAME TIME : AN ALERT TO ALL SWIPE MACHINE HOLDERS ACCROSS INDIA. Verify the debit card owners id before swiping by asking the swipe card customer to present his pancard which makes it doubly sure that the person who has come with the debitcard is the authorised owner itself. Being cautious is good for the trader as well as the debit card owner.
also please note : every bank has a toll free number in their atm counter. For Example: you are the owner of a bob card , if you have lost a bank of baroda card in an axis bank atm, make sure you rush to the nearest bank of baroda atm counter find out the toll free number of BOB , call them immediately and get it blocked. This is very mcuh possible and services are available by the bankers from 8am to 10pm at night.
Also lodge an FIR at the e- department ,cyber crimes at your location anywhere in india.
The cyber Police is well equipped to assist you in hunting down the culprit in the event of any misuse.
