Hi,
I have an account in ICICI Bank and I tried to withdraw RS. 8000/- cash from Axis Bank ATM, Paschim Vihar New Delhi Branch, on 1-Aug-2010 with RECORD NO. 5380.
I received only RS.7100/-. I received 6 notes of RS.1000/-, 1 note of 500/- and 6 notes of RS.100/- In between RS.1000/- notes there was 1 RS.100/- notes. That means instead of RS 1000/- note I received RS.100/- note. I received RS.900/- short. I called up ICICI call centre and submitted a complaint.
They informed me that they forward my query to Axis bank and received the EJ.
As per the received EJ copy (Electronic Journal) provided by the Axis Bank, They are unable to reverse the amount.
The EJ says that the transaction was successful and cash was dispensed on the mentioned date. As this particular transaction happened at Axis Bank, and they suggest me to check with Axis Bank for further assistance.
I tried to check with Axis Bank but they are not ready to assist me.
According to Axis Bank
"As per Reserve Bank of India ( RBI ) guidelines, ATM Cash withdrawal disputes have to be raised by affected customers with their Banks. In compliance with these guidelines once you provide details of ATM cash withdrawal to your Bank, they would in turn formally, raise the dispute through inter-bank dispute resolution mechanism followed by all the Banks."
As I mentioned that I received 100/- Rs. note in between 1000/- Rs. So if ATM counts only no of notes dispatched from it then this is case of fraud done manually by placing 100 Rs. note between 1000/- Rs. I have serial no of all notes that I received from Axis bank ATM. and ICICI informed me that they are not able to help me.
Will you please help me regarding that ? and let me know who is responsable for this faulty transaction?
