I am a Senior Citizen holding above mentioned Savings Bank A/C with IDBI Bank, Bandra (W) Branch. I am constrained to submit this Complaint to the Honourable Court as I am unable to get my problem addressed at various levels in the Bank for the past one and half month.
I had attempted to withdraw money with IDBI bank Debit card (Master Card) from ATM at Catholic Syrian Bank opp National College, Bandra (W) on 3 May 10. After entering PIN and amount, I got a screen message “Invalid Amount”. No cash or printout was dispensed. Thinking that my amount entry might be wrong, I attempted again with Rs 10,000/-, but with same result. I then tried with a smaller amount, 5,000/- with same result. Thinking that ATM may be out of order, I left.
When I received Bank’s weekly balance alert on 9th May, I was shocked to note my balance reduced by Rs 20,000/-.
I visited Bandra (W) Branch on 10th May and signed a prescribed complaint form as advised by them. Thereafter I have been following with visit to Bandra every week. I had written two letters to General Manager, HO on 11 May and 25 May 10 for this. Also I had sent emails Bank Chairman on 29 May and 12 June.
I have received letters from IDBI Bank that as per Catholic Syrian Bank, transaction is shown as successful and they have no excess cash.
I had specifically requested the Bank to get confirmation from ATM supplier or Visa/Master, what happens when a person using ATM gets a screen “invalid Amount”, after which the screen returns to original display at the time of commencement and there is no disbursement of cash and no print out. They have not investigated this.@For the technical flaw in ATM machine, I should not be penalized.
I urge the Honourable Court to get me justice in the case.
