Hi All,
I lost my HDFC Easy Shop Gold Debit Card, I got it blocked and applied for a new one.
After i received my Debit Card, I found that 551/- have been deducted as lost card fees as per the email received from HDFC customer care.
However on HDFC bank's website, it clearly mentions that fees for all lost cards is 100/-
(Go to hdfcbank.com- cards- debit card - Easy Shop Gold debit Card - click on services and fees and download the PDF file)
Though after threatning a legal action, they did credit 551/- back in my account but this is a fradulent practice which the bank is practicing
Abosolutely similiar issue happened to me way back in November 2008 and then the bank again reversed the charges of 551/-
The reason why i call it a fraud and cheat is that on their website they mention lost charges as 100/- so that innocent customers can be lured and apply for the same, but actually for the lost they charge 551/- and when they send a new card it contains a leaflet which mentions that charges to be 500/- for a lost card.
I have all the emails, leaflets etc. mentioned in above regard
I'm determined to sue the company, Please guide!!!
