    Default SBI Bank Harrasing Consumers

I have withdrawn a sum of Rs 1000/- from SBI ATM on 3rd of September 2009, Shivaji Nagar Gurgaon Branch. Everything worked fine i got Rs 1000/- and my account is debited. It was a normal transection. On 25th of September 2009, My wife called me up to inform that one policeman met him in her office and was claiming that he was trying to withdrew a sum of Rs 18000 (Eighteen Thousends) on the same day mentioned above(3rd September, 2009) and his accout was debited but the sum of money he never received. he was saying that when he approached the bank maintaing the ATM. they mentioned that the one after you might have got your money (18 thousend) on his transection. I was the one who withdrew the sum of 1000 Rs. Bank people gave him my account details and from my account details he came to know my wife official address and he went to my wife's office. My wife geve him my number and he contacted me for the same case. i mentioned that i only received the sum of Rs 1000/- that i withdrew on that day, than he was saying that bank people are puting all the blame on the person next after him that is you.

The First point is that i never even 1 Rs Extra from my transection. and on what basis bank can claim this. That fellow than approached his rewari sbi bank for this matter. they enquired the SBI Shivaji Nagar Branch, and in response they mentioned that the person after him (that is me) might have got the amount in his transection and fled away. as a proof (which they consider is good for them) they showed a vedio footage and i was shown entering account details of my account, withdrawing money and putting in my pocket without counting.(i dont count a sum of Rs one thousend when two 500 note comes out. it makes no sense in counting. even if one note of five hundered and five note of 100 you get you get a feel of hand that yes it is 1000/- sum.) when i ask can they find out the sum i received in a transection. than he mentioned that this is they dont know. but they are saying that money cant go anywhere in the machine if it is debited that it must have come out of the machine. Now they complaint with the police station, we are very disturbed and are going to meet the manager in this regard on this saturday i.e., 10/10/2009 that how can they act in such a nonsense manner. and what right they have (without a suffiiant proof) to harrass other people, who are not related with this case. :&

    Dear Mr. Sehgal,

To sort out such kinds of Banking complaints, you will have to send a written complaint to the Head Office of the concerned Bank and wait for the response for near 15 to 20 days. Keep a copy of that letter with you so that if the Bank fails to give you any solution, you can forward your complaint to the Banking Ombudsman.
