My parents had terrible stressful experience, worst treatment, and
collected Rs. 19000 on top of a valid ticket and no receipt given for the additional Rs.19000 by the ground team in Chennai airport 25-07-09 night, when they tried to check in on air India express flight. PNR no IX05605744
The events are as follows
My parents tried to check in chennai airport, while try to check in the officer request for Rs.4000 claiming they have excess baggage. My parents decided to drop excess baggage check in the permitted baggage , which the counter staff was agitated because of this. Immediately my father requested him to check in the allowed baggage and hand over the boarding pass to my mom(this time passport and ticket was with check in staff), my father went to return the baggage, giving the passport to the counter staff asking to prepare the boarding pass leaving my mother to collect the boarding pass.
When my father returned back they said counter closed. This is totally a exploitation against senior citizens, where they are not familiar with procedures.
When they requested to change the other flight Indian flight, they refused and they told them the ticket cannot be rescheduled to Indian or other airindia express flight.
Since the staff know that my parents were on a urgency, they got Rs.19,000 from my parents. When they requested for ticket and receipt they were denied. Even upon repeated for the receipt request they denied.
Because of the whole event my parents were become traumatic, and worried
that the staff would create more problems for them. They stopped asking
for receipt.
They have still recovered from the stress. The whole events is conscious
exploitation of senior citizens, atrociously refused to change flight or
give receipt for the travel, I am cannot image such a thing in an
international airport, I could not logically understand why
they were denied boarding( if time is too close they always could not
weighted the baggage, or could have checked in with just a hand carry
baggage.
- if time is up, why the counter staff did not return the passport and air
ticket when my father went to return the excess baggage. To highlight when
my father went to return the baggage the passport was with a counter
staff, and my mother was there.
- They bought a ticket on air India express, but they asked them to travel
in Indian. If this adjustment can done for airline convenience can be done
why they did not choose to them without buying a ticket since they still
show on time.
- Why receipt was not given to new ticket.
Kindly advice me which department I need to talk to elevate this issue to
higher management so other citizens or people won't exploited similarly
- how can proceed to settle the dispute and stress and monetary loss
caused to my parents
Whatever I have stated is completely true incidents, and it's very clear
they did this for money.Though they come up with counter reasons and
justifications, Today we have lot advancement in technology, I hope the
whole event should have recorded in the airport camera near check in, the
computer must have registered the timing of my parents when tried to check
etc for you to verify the truth.
Whom can i contact, i tried write airindia express customer service(customersupport@airindiaexpress.in <customersupport@airindiaexpress.in), aviation ministry(praful@sansad.nic.in, but no response. Any other channel to seek justice

Myself RAJAN THAYYIL INDIAN PASSPORT NO.G8654851 E TICKET NO.IX11654666, PNR NO.IX06023244 TRAVELLED VIA AIR INDIA EXPRESS FLIGHT NO. IX442 ON 26TH NOV 2009 FROM MUSCAT TO KOCHI WITH 2 BAGGAGES CHECKED IN.
WHEN I REACHED KOCHI I FIND THAT ONLY 1 BAGGAGE CAME WITH 2 BAGGAGE TAGS ON BOTH THE HANDLES OF THE BAGGAGE AND THE 2ND BAGGAGE IS MISSING EITHER NOT BOARDED OR TAKEN AWAY BY OTHER PASSENGERS. IMMEDIATELY I LODGED COMPLAIN WITH THE STAFF ON DUTY AND THAY GAVE ME " PROPERTY IRREGULARITY REPORT" LATER GAVE ME THEIR COMPAINT NO 20980 THROUGH WHICH THEY ARE FOLLOWING UP THE MISSING BAGGAGE INTERNATIONALLY THRPUGH AIR INDIA EXPRESS OFFICES.
I RETURNED MUSCAT ON 12TH dECEMBER AND REPORTED THE MISSING AT MUSCAT AIRPORT OFFICE ALSO. SO FAR NO POSSITIVE RESPOMSE RECEIVED FROM THE AUTHORITIES AT KOCHI OR MUSCAT.
THERE IS NO SYSTEM IN KOCHI AIRPORT TO COUNTER CHECK THE PASSENGERS ARE CARRYING THEIR BAGGAGES OUTSIDE THE AIRPORT. WHO EVER GETS A BAGGAGE CAN GO WITH IT FREELY AND EVEN IF IT IS NOT BELONGING TO THEM. FROM KNOWN PERSONS IT IS KNOWN THAT THOSE WHO TAKES OTHERS BAGGAGES BY MISTAKE IS RETURNING THEM LATER AND COLLECT THIR ORIGINAL BAGGAGES. BUT WHEN THE VALUE OF CONTENTS OF THE BAGGAGE RECEIVED WRONGLY IS MORE THAN THEIR ORIGINAL BAGGAGE, CAHNCES OF RETURN IS RARE.
WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT TO BE DONE IN THIS CASE TO GET MY GRIEVANCE CLEARED.
WAITING FOR YOUR REPLY
THANKS & REGARDS
