Dear Sir,
I would like to file a complaint against AIRINDIA as we suffered a lot because of their irresponsibility.
The details are:
I am Madhukar Rapaka an Indian citizen living and working in Germany have booked an air ticket from Hyderabad (India) to Frankfurt (Germany) for my wife Mrs Prasanna Motukuri on 31.07.2009 for the AIRINDIA Flight with nr: AI8753. Please find the details below:

Date 31 July 2009
Name of the passenger: Prasannakumari Motukuri

At the time of booking the ticket booking representative told us that there is an offer for the passengers who travel till the 31.07.2009 can carry a weight up to 30 Kg apart from the cabin baggage of 8 Kg. Please find the details below (fromthe website of Air India airindia.co.in in the sections Promotions):

First 40kgs (regular) + 10 kgs (additional) = 50 kgs (total)
Business 30kgs (regular) + 10 kgs (additional) = 40 kgs (total)
Economy 20kgs (regular) + 10 kgs (additional) = 30 kgs (total)
On the journey date (31.07.2009) when my wife arrived at the Shamshabad International Air port, Hyderabad, the Air India flight AI8753 was linked to the Lufthansa flight LH753 without any intimation to the passengers. The Lufthansa authorities allowed only 20 Kg instead of 30 Kg as said by the Air India representative. When my wife asked the Lufthansa authorities about the weight they answered very carelessly that they cannot do anything about this issue. Then my wife went to the Shamshabad Airport Authorities and they gave the contact numbers of Air India duty manager, the numbers are : 9440754721; 9989245004.
My wife tried to call these numbers for 30 min but no one answered to those calls. At last as the check-in time is closing, my wife had to remove 10 Kg from her baggage.
As my wife was flying first time it was really a nightmare for her to do all these things like talking to the authorities, going from one counter to the other and there is a little response at every place. Due to the irresponsibility of Air India my wife and other passengers suffered a lot mentally and Physically.
Please take some action against the Air India so that they will never make any passenger to suffer mentally and physically.
Please let me know if i have to fill some official complaint forms. I am unable to attach the ticket details to this email as the file size is more than allowed size, so I am sending you an email with attachments to admin@consumercourt.in.
Best Regards,
Madhukar Rapaka
