I booked a ticket on Indigo through makemytrip.com as part of a holiday package. The online form asked for Name of Guest prompting me to write in my own name instead of my daughter's friend who was also travelling with us. After submitting my credit card details and confirming payment I realized my mistake and called makemytrip to ask for the correction. I was told there's no way any change would be made. Subsequently I called Indigo and they repeated that as per airline rules they would not allow any change in the name. With over 2 weeks to go for the travel date and the fact that I called for the correction with 10 minutes of filling the online form, I see no reason why I had to pay the cancellation charges and get a fresh ticket issued. Seems to me that it is just an unfair way for airlines to make money off passengers' mistake.
