Singapore Airlines has decided to operate its own flights to Hyderabad from Oct 30.

Presently, the airlines' subsidiary Silk Air operates four flights a week to Hyderabad with 130-passenger capacity Airbus A-320. Singapore Airlines will deploy the 300-seater Boeing 777 on the sector.

Singapore Airlines Country Manager B.K. Ong called on Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy here Wednesday to convey the decision.

The flights will be formally launched on Oct 29 and regular services will begin the next day.

It will operate four flights a week from Singapore to Hyderabad and back. The flight will arrive in Hyderabad at 20.20 hrs and depart for Singapore at 21.20 hrs on Sundays, Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

State-owned Indian Airlines also operates three flights between Hyderabad and Singapore with 145-capacity A-320s. Air India operates two flights a week to Singapore with 250-capacity Airbus A-310 aircraft.
