Private domestic carrier Kingfisher Airlines will begin twice-daily services from Bangalore to Chennai and Hyderabad from Wednesday.

The airline said the one-way fare on the Bangalore-Chennai route would start at Rs.1,299, excluding taxes. The fare for the Bangalore-Hyderabad route starts at Rs.1,899, excluding taxes.

With the launch of these new routes, Kingfisher Airlines will be operating 34 flights daily, a statement issued by the Bangalore-headquartered airline said.

Kingfisher Airlines' fifth Airbus A-320 that has just joined the fleet will operate the new services. By the end of September, Kingfisher Airlines hopes to have six brand new A-320s in its fleet.

"These new routes are part of Kingfisher Airlines' expansion plans that began in May 2005," said its chairman and managing director Vijay Mallya.

Kingfisher Airlines is a wholly owned subsidiary of United Breweries (Holdings) limited, the UB Group's investments holding company.

The UB Group is one of India's largest conglomerates with a turnover of $2 billion with diverse interests in brewing, distilling, real estate, engineering, fertilizers, biotechnology, IT and aviation.
