    Default ClearTrip - bizzare names reflecting on the ticket

    I have been a loyal customer of Cleartrip and it is very hard on me to accept the treatment I have been receiving from their executives during last few days (since April 30, 2010 till date).
    I booked a Mumbai – Delhi ticket for two persons (namely Shikhar pant and Manuj Goyal) for 21st May 2010 and I received the names on the ticket as below.

    The names shown here are totally ridiculous and are clearly a some system generated string.
    To clarify what exactly happened with my booking, I have been calling clear trip customer care since 30th April and have not received any sensible feedback. I have been receiving strange suggestions which are as follows.

    1) A female executive asked me to cancel my tickets and pay cancellation charges of Rs.1050 per head totaling to Rs.2100 for tickets costing under Rs.6000. I confirmed this with Go Airlines where I was told that total cancellation charges will be a total of Rs.700. It seems like cleartrip is also earning on cancellation of tickets. That too twice the amount of actual cancellation. On top of that i am supposed to pay this due to no fault of mine.
    2) One Cleartrip Team Leader I told me that he will revert back to me in 24 hours after finding out what exactly happened in my case with their IT department. I have been chasing him since then and I am being told that either he is on leave or busy on another call and will call me back in sometime which never happened
    3) I have been kept on hold for a total time of well over 1 hour during my several correspondences with Cleartrip. Add the wait time to connect and the fact that i have to explain my problem every time, I fear that my phone charges might exceed the cancellation charges!

    I have also emailed to cleartrip customer service and am yet to receive any reply on it.

    Dear Shikhar,

    We are sorry to hear about your experience while dealing with Cleartrip Customer Care.

    Based on the data available with us and subsequent conversations which have taken place between our Call center executives and you, it can be concluded that the names displayed on the ticket were exactly in the same manner they were entered into the system. You were initially misguided by the Airline official by stating Rs.700 as the cancellation penalty for the entire booking which in reality was Rs.750 / Passenger / Sector.

    Based on the last communication between you and our Team Leader, you have requested us not to cancel the booking until further intimation from your side.

    Since the booking is claimed to be in the name of Invalid Passengers, we would request you to go ahead and cancel the booking as soon as possible, else it would be termed as No Show with only Rs.225/Passenger refunded to your account.
