I have been issued a ticket from hyderabad to USA with a stop over in Amsterdam which departs in august 2009. At the time of booking, they gave me a deal for 42000Rs through American airlines, which contained other airlines as well. Hyd-Mumbai (Kingfisher)+ Mumbai-London(Kingfisher)+London-Amsterdam(British). Later it goes with Amsterdam-London(BMI)+ London-Raleigh(American Airlines). They said we need visa for Schengen states + visa to USA which I had already. After departing from hyd and reaching mumbai, I was told that to get into schengen area via london the visa is not suffecient and they denied boarding. When I called makemytrip, they said that they can offer another ticket with lufthansa and the unused ticket will be fully refunded. As they mentioned that, I took the ticket in lufthansa by paying another 60000 for the route(Mumbai-Frankfurt-Amsterdam + Amsterdam-Washington-Raleigh). I travelled and have been inquiring about the refund since then, They have not yet refunded any amount to be and kept saying that it is difficult, airlines are refusing etc etc., and finally after 6 months of stress they said they can refund only 11422Rs. Having said I will get full refund and later on asking me to settle down with 11K is ridiculous. I feel betrayed by the Makemytrip team and had to call all the way back to india to resolve the issue added up to the costs further. With such a bad service I think they should be banned from offering any service at all.
