    Default Air Sahara online booking frauds.. in the name of technical faults

    This mail is meant to bring to your notice the problem
    we have faced (and still facing).I visited the website
    of Air Sahara (airsahara.net) on September 13,2005,
    and booked two tickets from Pune to Delhi for 18th
    September.


    Actually one of my friends in another software company
    called me up and asked me to get his tickets booked,
    as he was not having a credit card. I opened the site,
    and was surprised to see the tickets fare was just Rs.
    630 per ticket. As my mom-dad were travelling to Delhi
    the same weekend (September 17), I booked two tickets
    in their name, and thus gave my credit card details.
    The details of the transaction are

    PNR No. : NMMR2
    Order No. : AS2007630

    I further called up at their Pune office to confirm
    the same, as it was the first time I booked online
    tickets through the website. The customer care
    executive kept me on hold for 10 mins, after which I
    had to disconnect the line myself. This happened 3
    times in a row. Finally, on calling for the fourth
    time, I was told that the tickets have been issued,
    but they still didn't have the financial details.
    Meanwhile I got my train tickets (for September 17,
    2005) cancelled.

    Then my dad (I gave the credit card and other details
    of my dad) got a call from one of their
    representatives (Mr. Amit, 011-51515055) in Delhi
    saying that due to the technical fault, the actual
    amount of the ticket is Rs.10,630 and not Rs.630. He
    gave the option of getting booking cancelled, in which
    case no amount will be debited from the back account.
    My dad opted for this, and then I got the railway
    tickets booked again, this time the TATKAAL facility,
    which costed me Rs. 700 more (tatkal plus agent's
    charges).

    Now even the amount has been debited from my dad's
    account. And yesterday when I again tried to call up
    their customer care executives in Pune, they just kept
    me on hold for 15 mins. I visited their office (I had
    to leave my office during my office hours) and
    explained them the situation. They just gave the same
    reply "Sorry for your inconvenience" and assured that
    the amount will be credited back. But even they were
    not able to tell when the process will start.

    We am still paying the interest for the amount
    deducted, and the inconvenience caused during the
    process is ineffable.

    Now I think I deserve atleast one ticket as
    compensation for the amount of efforts and money loss
    because of website's technical fault.

    Air Sahara's Pune office game me the id of some
    rdamodaran@... to complaint in this regard.
    I have been mailing him for the last 3 days, but there
    are no responses/

    I called up their Pune office(020-56030169) again yesterday . They
    made me talk to three different people. I had to explain the situation
    to everyone, and here are the final excerpts of the conversation with
    the last person.

    lady : " technical fault ho gaya to hammaari kya problem hai"
    me : "toh kya meri problem hai? mein interest de raha hun, itni
    problems hui hain."
    lady : "database mein problem ho jaati hai.."
    me : "don't tell me about the databases. mein roz databases mein hi
    kaam karta hun. (am a s/w engg & consultant in a firm)"
    lady : "hum isme kuch nahi kar sakte"
    me : "i want my money back by evening today, or else i am going to
    consumer court"
    lady : "ok jaao.. " and she banged the receiver down.

    I request you to kindly look into this matter
    seriously and guide me to take the necessary action.

    dear sir

    air sahara should honor the transaction even it is
    wrongly quoted. It happened in USA, in the online
    booking of the tickets wrong/low fare was quoted in
    one of the routes for 2-3 days for which people booked
    online heavily on that route from that particular
    airline. By the time air line realized, it had
    incurred heavy losses but it honored all the online
    transactions. you have a perfect case to sue the
    airline for not honoring online transaction and coaxed
    by the airline officials to cancell the e-ticket.
