Dear Concerned,
I purchased Verna (petrol) CH04B-1285 in Jan 2008. On 28th May2010 my car met with an accident on Ambala-Chandigarh highway and its left side got damaged. I took the car to nearest Hundai dealer SAMTA MOTORS- (ambala) and i was told that the following parts are damaged and needs replacement- Chassi, left leg, shrout, bumper and one headlight(L). I was also told that the condenser and Front windshield glass is perfectly ok and need not to be replaced. They give a total estimate of Rs.55000/- to 60000/- for repairs. But when i got final bill i was charged for Wind Shield glass and Condenser. The total bill came Rs.96000/- aprox which is approx Rs.30000/- higher than expected.
Moreover the car took 34 days to get repair where as it should have been done in max of 5 days. When the car was taken to Samta motors(28th may), i was told that as its a petrol car we have to get spare parts from delhi and will take 4-5 days after which will we will start work on your car and will deliver to you max by 8th of june. I agreed and went back leaving the car in custody of Samta Motors. On 10th June i visited the dealer workshop and was surprised to see that my car is standing in garage with no work done it. when i asked for the same i was told that the spareparts got late and the worker was also on leave so we will deliver the car on 15th.
Again to my surprise, there was no progress on repair of car till 23rd june and that too despite several visits and reminders. On 27th june i called the partner of Samta Motors Mr. Arun Batra and told him about the delay in repairs of my car. He asked me to give 3 days to get the work completed. Somehow the repairs were done in hurry and car was delivered to me on 1st July but in following condition
- horn of car not working
- scratches on different parts of car
- major sound in engine during pickup
- dashboard not properly fitted
- car unwashed from inside with overall prints of oil hands on dashboard, seatcovers, doors
I put the complaint on customer care after which i received call from Samta motors(Mr. Nitu singh) after 2 days asking for problem. I told him about the problems in car and he asked me to visit their office after 4-5 days as there is flood in ambala. I took car to Samta Motors on 15th July but i was told that due to heavy rush we will not be able to attend you now and it will take 5-6 days to get your car repair. I came back and went again on 19 july. I met Mr. Batra and he again told me that due to rush we cannot entertain your problem. I asked him if i can get the problem checked and repaired at their other service centers at Karnal & Kurukshetra. He provided his consent on same so i took my car to Kaushalya Motors at Kurukshetra today where i got my car checked by their service engineer.
To my surprise they gave me estimate of Rs.60000/- for repair of car and when i asked about details for same i was given following details
- The sound in engine is due to Catalic Converter and need to be replaced costing Rs. 45000/-.
- The right side of fender is also repaired but not properly due to which fender bonut and bumper is not properly fitted, repair will cost Rs.2000/-
- The wiring and tubes of fog lamps is missing, repair will cost Rs. 4000/-
- The locks of inner mirror is also damaged and will be replaced, replacement cost Rs.400/-
- Denting and Painting cost Rs.6000/-
I asked them to give the estimate in writing but when they came to know that the car was earlier repaired from Samta Motors, they refused to provide the same in writing being fear of action against them.
I have already incurred a bill of Rs.97000/- against which insured value is only 550000/- aprox and insurance claim has already been processed.
Now again a bill of Rs. 60000/- will definitely break my backbone. Who is going to bear this cost which incurred totally because of negligence and careless attitude of Samta Motors? The fact of parts replacement during the period car was in possession of Samta Motors cannot be neglected also.
Keeping in view the pathetic service of Samta Motors part payment of Samta Motors has already been stopped and will be cleared only when my car is perfectly repaired.
I have not received any call from company official till now, infact i have received a call from owner of Samta Motors Mr. Batra at 6.50 pm (9812025222) asking me to make balance payment and threatened me if i didn't make the payment then i have to face sever consequences. I told him that i will make the balance payment provided my car is repaired as promised. But he said its not his concern and he just need his payment.
I have also logged a complaint at hyundai customercare no. 09873564645 and talked to Mr. Nitesh, who has assured me that the company officials will take suitable action on your complaint.
But till now no company official has even bothered to call me on complaint, resolution is far ahead. Kindly take appropriate action against the dealer and company for harrasment and cheating of customer.
